Oh oh oh!!! It's Thursday already…am I too late to enter? I just saw this post, and it gave me goosebumps. I just re-did my living room with the same blue tones. I also bought 2 pillows from Target just 2 days ago! How funny is that? Everything else I used in my re-do was gathered from around my house.

Yes…I would ask my neighbor for eggs–lots of them.

I hope so! We are pretty close to some of them, and others keep to themselves (childless folks who may not appreciate the lively nature of our two preschoolers)! But I wish for a neighborhood of yesteryear — all the time !

My neighbors just so happen to be friends that we go back YEARS with! Courtney was a sorority sister of mine — I met her 15 years ago. My husband has known her even longer, since high school! We even started a shared vegetable garden this year. So yeah, I'd have no problem borrowing an egg, and vice versa! It's great to have neighbors who are also dear friends.

I have neighbors that I consider family and count it as such a blessing in this day and age. We're very lucky in that regard!

It has been so long since I stopped by and it's lovely as usual! I love the prints above your bed and the color scheme is so soothing. I think I know my neighbours well enough to borrow an egg but wouldn't do it all the time I guess. One way to find out!! Have a lovely day.

I live on an island, population,50. There are no stores here at the moment; all of our supplies are brought on by boat, which is weather-dependent. We ALL routinely borrow from each other, everything from eggs to gas, to diapers, to cold medicines. We are a perfect example of the word Community. It's fantastic!

love the prints, also love the bird silloutes, as far as the question, unfortunatly we do not know many of our neighbors (like i remember as a kid we knew everyone on the block) but the woman across the street and the couple next door have been very friendly, though we don't socialize together, we get each others mail when some one is gone on vacation, we have been lucky enough to have the ones across the street keep the dogs for us for a few days

When we first moved in 2 of my neighbors came over, one with cinnamon rolls (delicious) and the other with banana bread and they both said, "we are the type of neighbors where you can come and borrow a cup of sugar" so I definitely know I can count on them!

BTW- my living area is painted the same color and I LOVE it!

I don't have the neighborhood set up to borrow an egg, but when we used to live in suburbia a girlfriend/neighbor and I would often borrow an egg or sugar.

I don't really miss it terribly. I love the tranquil country life with lots of trees and wildlife. It's worth driving for eggs or just going without.

I love your redo! My bedroom needs painting and I am thinking blue. I have had blue before and most recently BM Zenful. Have to use that SW coupon!
As for eggs, I have several neighbors that I would and have asked for eggs! In fact, one "more senior" couple used to give us their egg yolks weekly for many years, because they were only using the whites! I didn't always know what to do with them, but I never said no!

Well I guess I never really thought about asking my neighbor for anything. My in laws live 7 houses down, so if I need anything, they bring it over on their golf cart!! I'm lucky!! Great give away. Keeping my fingers crossed. You did a good job on the decorating. Looks nice.

Yes, I do borrow eggs (or whatever) from my neighbors from time to time when I'm in a pinch and count it a complement when they borrow back! In fact, being vulnerable enough to ask to borrow an ingredient has opened up opportunities to get to know other neighbors I don't know as well. People are usually more willing than we think, and being willing to ask has paid off in new friendships/communication in our cul de sac.

I absolutely feel like we could borrow an egg from the neighbors at our end of the block. I'm grateful that we have a group knows each other, shares with each other and just generally looks out for each other. Of course, I would have to add conversation time to the recipe!

My neighborhood has changed lately and I really just have one that is special and we call each other frequently borrowing stuff…food, stud finders, paint etc. Her husband started my mower a few times, they helped me bail water out of my basement several years ago (a TRUE friend there)…whenever she makes cookies she brings me some, as do I. And, now that my grill is broken, I have an open invite to use theirs! Great re-do by the way~
