Simple Front Porch Nesting!

by Sandy on September 4, 2009

Melissa talks about Fall nesting and her life being a bit unorganized, over at The Inspired Room today.

I can relate! It’s way too overwhelming with life’s circumstances, and a kitchen remodel taking place, to even think about decorating. I don’t think I could find my Fall boxes right now …
So my front porch is as far as I’ll get. It’s a great place to start!
It only takes a minute to freshen it up.
I do love Fall. I love the colors, the feel, the smells, the tastes.
And apples and pears, which we’ll continue to enjoy in the next couple of months.
I get giddy just thinking about the vibrant colors, the cool brisk mornings, and warm sunny days.

I picked more tomatoes, zucchini and squash today. My jaunts through the garden are definitely slowing down – another sign of Fall. That, and our kids have already started school.
What is Fall to you?

Are you in the Fall Nesting mood?
Head on over to The Inspired Room and read up!

Your porch is the smile that greets others when they come to your home, so it's a fabulous place to start! Good for you! hope things are going well on your kitchen remodel!

I am ready to decorate for Fall. But for the sake of my kids, who don't go back to school until 9/8, I am leaving the sand, shells and beachy things intact for now. They don't want summer to be over yet!

I'm not in any hurry to rush into autumn either. By my calendar I've got 3 more good weeks of summer, and I'm going to enjoy them! :)

I've been REALLY dragging my feet on the whole fall thing because I love summer and can't stand winter. :-) Yesterday when I was driving home I noticed some leaves already starting to turn and actually kind of got excited to see all of the fall color. It's a start…

I made a door arrangement yesterday and bought new "fall" napkins–slowly but surely!

Ooooooooh, Fall! Love the colors of fall. Fall to me is cooler mornings and cool nites with the sights and sounds of the local football team playing under the lights on Friday nights and a simmering fire in our firepit on Saturday nites….yup, it's a great time of year.

Hey, Sandy, I'm not quite in the mood yet. We have a beach trip coming up, so I'm still sort of in summer mode. But, I will be getting there soon. I love Fall! Thanks for coming by, friend!

Have a wonderful long weekend.

You know it's funny, normally I am so ready for fall this time of year but it seems today that I'm just not quite ready to say goodbye to summer. I *have* started taking down/putting away my spring/summer decor. I have a sunflower wreath ready to be put together for the front door. Maybe by Tuesday I'll be ready. ;) I love that pumpkin on your front porch!

Fall to me is a coolness in the air, which I'm still waiting for here in CA! We'll have very hot weather for another 3-4 weeks unfortunately.

Fall is my absolute favorite time of year with all of the leaves changing colors, temps cooling down, and pumpkins! The sight of pumpkins just makes me happy!

The pumpkin you put on your front porch is GREAT! Thank you for the inspiration…even though it's HOT HOT HOT outside, I think I'll dress up our front porch!

Fall is cozy blankets, fireplaces, hot chocolate in the mornings (at least for the kids) and of course, pumpkins.

Then there's the first pumpkin spice latte of the season-that definately says fall!

I love the sticks on your porch!

I can't wait to start bringing out the fall decor!! I really had the urge one day this week to start with the front porch, but thought I better at least wait until after Labor day!!

Can't wait to make that first pumpkin bread!!

Enjoy your holiday weekend!

Hi, Sandy!

Yes, I love Fall also, but I haven't quite begun my decorating routine yet. I may actually be moving in the next couple of weeks and will begin decorating in my new home. I love using real bits of nature, real acorns, nuts and pumpkins (of course!) in both white and orange. Grapevine. Then I added a few faux touches.

I hope that you and your family are well and happy.

God bless,
Elizabeth

Hey, love that you are freshening up for fall! I think it is SO important. Fall is WAY too short of a season to put it off too long! Changing our decor for the season puts us in the right frame of mind for nesting and keeping life fun and fresh, in spite of how crazy life is!! I love fall weather too, in the NW it is DIVINE!

xoxo & blessings to you friend
