I noticed your apron and kitchen right off. I think I will try your sauce for Christmas. I just can’t do the canned stuff anymore. Ha!

I need a new oven soooooo bad! So when it was declared that thanksgiving was at my house I was a little nervous. My mom came (with that same cranberry goodness you make) and she went to warm her stuffing in my oven and said”how in the world can you cook with this oven! You cannot even read the numbers on the dials anymore!” I told her I just “feel” when it is in the right spot. My oven made pumpkins scones, apple crisp, pumpkin pie and the turkey perfectly However, for Christmas, mommy is getting a new oven! yippee. Hope you have a great weekend!

I am typically not a cranberry sauce person, but that looks so good!

I have made some broccoli salad, a cheese log (recipe which I got out of the costco connections magazine) and now am getting ready to make rolls! We are going to my inlaws!

Hopefully next week I’ll post some recipes…sheesh my list of posts gets longer and longer and I can’t seem to get anywhere to post them…

There is nothing like homemade cranberry sauce. It is sooo easy and sooo much better. The pecans are an interesting touch. I will have to try that. Thank you for the idea xoxoxo Clarice

Last Friday we attended the downtown chef’s “throwdown” One of the dishes was a raw cranberry relish, made with a touch of jalepeno, red onion, ginger, orange & celery, served in a little cream puff type shells—-unbelievably yummy and fresh tasting!

I’ll have my girl home helping with the pie baking in the morning! Yeah!

We’re going VERY untraditional this year – in our history studies we’ve been focused on the Medieval Ages for the past 10 weeks. Our studies will culminate in our very own Medieval Feast this Friday after we descend (from TX) upon my folks in TN, my sister and her brood arrive in TN from OH and my brother and his crew walk over from next door to my folks. We will definitely be posting about this in the coming week when we arrive back home – hope you can stop by and see all the fun!

Planning is done. I’ll be making pickled shrimp, and crab dip for appetizers, and fresh green beans sauteed with garlic, cornbread stuffing, glazed carrots, potatoes, pumpkin pie and individual cheesecakes for dessert. This weekend, I also made a three-layer checker-board cake. Tons of food, tons of family, tons of fun!

I’ve been cooking for as long as I can remember, but never made cranberry sauce until this year. My favorite version used crystalized ginger too! I also found kumquats to be a nice addition.

Oh…and if you are like me, sometimes I need a recipe you can just walk away from…so your great recipe above can also be put into a slow cooker on high for 2 hours and when you come back it will be ready!

my favorite part…love, love, love seeing your kids in the kitchen. It’s the BEST isn’t it!
