Last year was dreadfully busy… so this year I had already purposed to take it easy and focus on fun things with my family – decorating, baking, relaxing and having fun.

Now that my last day working is Dec. 17 (I was laid off), that should be easy to accomplish!

Lovely! I am looking forward to a simple holiday season too. Our family has reduced gift giving tremendously and now focus on being together, having great food and laughter and remembering the reason for the season.

I notice there are no serving dishes on your table. I always have to remove the centrepiece to make room for the bowls and platters. Do you serve your Thanksgiving meal buffet style, so everyone chooses what they want? Or do you serve already full plates? Thanksgiving is long gone here in Canada, but it’s not too early to look for good ideas for my Christmas table!

Love it Sandy. I am putting up a few extra decorations this year because I plan to stay home more to enjoy them and each other!

Mark and I just talked about how much life will be changing with our family in the next few years with the kids being older and in new relationships that take them to other homes

We are determined to enjoy every moment and embrace the “new” that comes along too.

I am looking forward to simple! Spent today decorating, listening to Christmas music and then watching two Eloise movies with Nan!! Lookin forward to our upcoming vacation!!

Now if it will snow when we get home from vacation I’d be utterly happy!
