We love Hawaii themed anything at our house. So everyone at our house thought it was great.
Kricket wants to get into cake decorating, we will have to let the two of you have a time of it soon.
Kricket’s symbol has always been flip flops. Not sure why. When the kids were in the 3rd grade they made flags that best represented who they were, of course hers was flip flops So the cake was a favorite for her!
My first festivity of the season was a dinner party on the 6th. I always have this party the first Sunday in Decmeber. It is such a great way to start off the season. We put up our tree and have close friends over and enjoy the warmth and joy of having them here to share the start of the holiday.

The Cake Boss Girl did a bang-up job. Our family’s first “Christmas” celebration was our 11-year-old grandson’s birthday on Dec 1. He insisted we sing “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” rather than “Happy Birthday.” Then we ended with a Christmas carol to set the stage for December.

Beautiful cake! I’ve always dreamed of doing the same thing…seems like it’s a bit difficult with my little eager helpers along! We celebrate Dec 1 with a gingerbread house day, making them and frosting them, and eating the extra candy!

We delivered Advent boxes to our grandkids today and will be decorating our trees next week. My husband and I will be attending a Christmas concert and sing-a-long after that. Then a holiday luncheon at our house for extended family the week before Christmas and Christmas Eve dinner for the family.

I had lots and lots of activities planned starting this week but I broke my ankle Sunday. Looks like I’ll be sidelined for about 6 weeks. Truly a bummer!

My mother-in-law was a fabulous wedding cake designer in So. Calif. It was a very profitable, at home business for her as she raised her children. If Abby has the talent, she should develop her craft.
