“Home is where the Navy sends us.” We’ve lived many different places, but really…home is where my family is. Where we can all feel safe to be ourselves. Right now, it is warm and cozy and quiet, but in the morning, my toddlers will be awake and the joyful noise begins! I can’t wait. I am such a home-body!!
And I soooo LOVE that apron!

You can do or be what ever you want, this is what we stress and encourge in our home even if this means that your Jr in high school DAUGHTER wants to play varsity FOOTBALL! Well with a lot prayer and talking it over the the coaches she finished an entire season that included summer camps and 2 hour practices 5 days a week in full gear and maybe a little lip gloss she ended up a league champion she may not have played in every game but when she did you could hear the crowd show her their support & not just from mom & dad, so this will stay with her for the rest of her life that yes it is possible to do or be anything you want.

I did a whole post on this back in October, after a trip to L.A….
Home is the foggy little peninsula and the house with the purple door. My home isn’t perfect (I gave up on that in favor of my sanity…and apparently blogging)…it needs a new master bathroom (Can you just imagine saloon doors? OK, they are gone now, but they were there!), the kitchen tile is atrocious, the grass is a little brown, and there is plenty of dog hair to go around.Yet, when I drive up to the house, I hear the “sniff, sniff” at the door waiting for me, my favorite picture hanging on the wall, the smell of my favorite candle, and again all is well with the world….my world. The one where my kids make messes and laughter, where I stay up too late, and where, when the sun sets on the deck, it is pretty darn near perfect…especially if chocolate chip cookies have just finished baking in the oven!

My answer is going to be different than most I am sure..Home to me is…You can feel warm and fuzzy right when you step into your home. It’s when you snuggle in bed with your child(ren) and husband or significant other, it’s fresh baked cookies and apple pies. Home is not only a place, it’s a feeling or something that gives you a warm feeling. It’s eating as a family at the dinner table and sharing breakfast in the morning. It’s bed time stories and late night giving my baby her bath. It’s a cuddle with the cats at night while watching my favorite daytime shows. It’s being the best parent and spouse you can be and giving all of your love daily to each.

Home is a feeling that is shared not made.
Sure, all the cozy comfy elements of decor and aromas of candles and things make an atmosphere beautiful. But for me, home is being with my husband, my kids, my family memebers, my close friends and sharing and laughing. Feeling accepted and loved. That is home.
