Spruce it up with Pine Cones!

Pine cones

When it was time to put my pomegranates away, I brought out the pine cones for display, to add a yummy scent back into my living room. This year I bought these cinnamon-scented pine cones on sale at Christmas time.

Earlier I added ribbon.

And then a red pomegranate.

Now a single candle. (Bulk bargain candles from IKEA.)

Pine cones

Pine cones in winter are a simple, easy, inexpensive way to decorate. But I have to be honest. I’m ready to put them away and bring the SPRINGY feel back into my home!

Do you still have winter decor out or are you starting to freshen it up with Spring?

My winter decor is all put away….but I love pinecones. When we’ve gone to sunriver, I’ve picked up those cute teeny ones on the little branches when I see them laying around.

  9. I collected lots of pine cones in November and used them like this, I mixed them up with some dried sliced oranges and cinamon sticks to give a festive smell. I never thought of spray painting them, maybe I’ll try that next year.

  10. Winter is so short here – just weeks long – that once the last holiday box is packed away I’m longing for color and fresh flowers. And by then, my camellia is in bloom to gratify my wish and the daffy’s, already out of the ground, won’t be far behind!

I have kept my pinecones out….like your tall candle in the center – I have pincones in an old vase that I don’t think should get hot, putting the candle up high may work – right?

Love your new kitchen – so very happy you have a new space to create, love and keep taking care of all that God has filled your cup up with!
