Favorite Things: Beauty, Food, and Friendship!

I love my home. Even when it’s dirty or turned upside down, home is still home.

Last week I was inspired by 3 things that made me even happier in my home.

Beauty
I took a favorite long white dish (thank you, Hoppi!)

Bought 4 primroses at the grocery store.

One of my favorite things is bringing a bit of Spring into my home.

Food
My neighbor Ellie did it again. She returned our plate full of yumminess (love the way she always lets us know what we are eating!)

One of may favorite things is having awesome neighbors who share.

A friend also brought a meal over and fed our family – easy … no returning the dishes.

Friendship
And then a card came in the mail. Just when I needed it. A hand-written card with a handwritten note of encouragement, from a friend … just because.

Sometimes I find myself dreaming about bigger things (trying not to get caught up in “If Only …”).

But then I remind myself that it’s the simple things in life that bring joy.

Have you reached out to a friend lately with food or a card, or even purchased flowers for yourself?

Girl I have to have the recipe for the marscapone cannoli. OMG it looks great. Am having lasagne tonight for my girl. She has been asking all week. Did you get my DM about the message I got from you? Hope all is well. When can you be a guest on my show Madre Minutes? Let me know.
    Take care,

Thank you for this post! What hit me the most was the card you received in the mail…I can’t remember the last time I sent a friend a card “just because”…Hand-writing simple notes of cards is becoming a “lost art” of sorts. So today I am putting away the computer and pulling out the pen and paper (or cute cards…) Thanks for the inpiration:)

How funny to see Cannoli at the top of your blog. I just got a recipe for cannoli from my grandma (that was my great grandmas) to give to a friend of mine.

Last week I bought some pretty Narcissus for a friend!

It is special when someone reaches out to you, and you reach out to someone else. I made lunch for some guys this week, and it was very rewarding for me. Just lifted my spirits to help out.
I will try to send someone a card, just because next week. Thanks for the reminder!

  10. This was a beautiful post! Not only is it nice to receive love from friends, it reminded me that I need to be that friend sometimes – sharing love. You’ve inspired me to change my outlook this week. :)

  11. What sweet friends you have! I almost bought myself some tulips yesterday, but didn’t. Now I’m having second thoughts :) ! I love the tip about bringing food for someone in a “dish”/disposable item that they need not return. I’ve used this tip myself many times when taking a meal to a family with a new baby or who’s been sick…it makes the meal so much more welcome without them stressing about returning a dish to the correct person! I love your blog, you are so encouraging! Thanks! :)

    So many blessings.

    sometimes they are plentiful.

I love fresh flowers. I actually bought 3 small bouquets last week to put around the house. They are still surviving. I also love key lime..and can just imagine how wonderful the cannoli’s taste. Reminds me that it’s time to make someone’s day.
