There are so many fun recipes that are easy enough for kids to do, and the great thing is the more they are doing, the more time parents have to do other important things. That looks like a great, and also delicious recipe, I will have to try that out with my kids! Thanks for sharing it.

Lucky you! It’s great to learn to cook at home and to learn that cooking can be fun and easy as well as a necessity.

This recipe looks really good, I’m not sure we can get this dressing here but I’ll give it a try with a similar type.

I do the exact same thing with Halibut (you could also use talapia) but I use ranch dressing, instead of olive oil dressing. It’s delicious!

I love Kraft foods, but I had not heard of the iFood Assistant–thanks for the tip! And thanks for the easy recipe. One of my sons loves to cook; the others are pretty clueless in the kitchen. I need some easy recipes to bring them into the loop. Even if they don’t become foodies, they need to be able to find their way around in the kitchen!

I think it’s absolutely fabulous that you’re teaching your kids to cook! I agree with you, if you don’t allow them the opportunity they won’t know how. Besides, you’re giving them life skills they can take with them when they leave home. I wasn’t allowed to use the oven, etc. but my parents allowed me to cook whatever I wanted in the microwave. So I made lots of strange combinations when I was a kid! Thankfully my skills improved as an adult.

Love it! It pays off! My son is 23, has finished college, and is leaving with me while he finds a “real” job. He learned to cook a couple of his favorites while in college. He offered to cook “Mexican Chicken” this week for me. It’s totally cool when you see your kids be self sufficient and grown up.

I’ve yet to set a schedule, but there are times here and there where I have them cook. My goal is to have them cook one meal a week. Now that our out of the country company has left we’ll get started on that next payday.

I’ve used that dressing for pasta salad and another dish I made that was soo good.

It’s wonderful how you keep your kids involved in the kitchen! My Mom did the same & I can’t wait to share it with my kids. Something my Mom did (which I loved) is once a month each kid could plan an entire meal – anything we wanted – we had to make the lists, organize the time table, go shopping with Mom, pick ingredients, then make the meal! Great learning experiences & wonderful memories!

Wow…looks yummy. Your son can cook for me anytime:-) I have 2 daughters, 15 and 13, who cook more than I do and will love this recipe. I agree…all kids should learn to cook. I know my girls will be cooking for their friends at college…inviting them over for a pan of lasagne or something. And then they can come home for a visit and cook for me:-)
