Hi! I am so enjoying your site – it is lovely! Yes, I do rotate some coffee table-type books, but I rotate them on one of my end tables in the family room. They give height to my lamp and create a nice vignette with a figurine and candle stick I have there. I just need to rotate more of my vintage objects – I have way too many packed away in boxes.

I have always decorated with my books – entertaining books, fashion books, books on California and Los Angeles…and Hawaii. I have a very small collection of vintage cookbooks and party books. I love my books and they are all over the house!

I love to route seasonal books on my coffee table for my children. Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving,Valentines…it becomes part of my decorating for the season. Many are children’s picture books that my children have grown up on and most are read through the season.

This makes me miss two things: our coffee table and yard sales! We took the coffee table out when Emma started walking because she was hitting her head on it too much. Honestly the same books have been sitting there for years. Every now and then (like right) I’ll whip out a great gardening book like Martha Stewart’s Gardening and place that there. It’s inspiring and it’s a nice break from all the snow.
