I normally plant my garden around Mother’s Day, but they are saying that spring has come early to the northwest this year – we’ve had bulb flowers for weeks now up here in the north valley – how about you guys? Maybe we’ll have to plant early this year!

no veggie patch for me this year and i will miss it. we can’t plant till the end of May here but I always have pots of herbs and flowers and might put in a few tomatoes. We are blessed to have a few farmers markets within minutes of our house so I think we will become “regulars” there.

Love Yountville! I was able to visit two times this fall – I work in the hotel industry and I was there interviewing hotel managers…I am interested to know where you stayed.

I dream of Bouchon bakery chocolate crossaints…plus a few other items The garden is beautiful – Yountville is a gem. So glad for your trip.

I need all the inspiration I can get to get my hands in the dirt this spring – it is so rewarding if I just do it!

Coming here for the first time just feels like a breath of fresh air. Your photos are so beautiful, and your blog clean and lovely. Clicked on your button from 504 Main. We live in the Bay Area, and only once on an anniversary, ate at the French Laundry. Hubs and I are big foodies. We can still name almost every course. Napa is breathtaking, as is Yountville. Don’t you love saying that…Yountville. Makes me feel like I live in the South:) Come on by sometime for a visit. Holly:)

Looks like such a fun place to go and I love the name!

I am definitely planting some tomatoes and herbs (in pots) this year. I love the idea of a garden but I know NOTHING about gardening!!!

I go back and forth on this … but I think this spring is the year I stop waffling and put out at least some pots in the backyard. Then again, there’s a farmer’s market open within spitting distance open just about every day of the week. One man’s laziness is another man’s customer!

Visiting the French Laundry is on my wish list!! Beautiful!

Yes! I think ahead and garden. But, I garden in pots…all organic. I have been thinking about raised beds for years but have to find a way to integrate it into my landscaping as our neighborhood is not allowed to have food gardens. So, for now I have big pots…I buy one or two each year to add more “garden space” and I fill them with tomatoes, lettuce, and tons of herbs…I like to think of it as my little spot of Tuscany. I like to mingle in edible flowers too.

I just ordered some of those upside down planters yesterday on amazon. Hard time getting anything to grow here in the desert of Las Vegas, but I am going to try my hand at some tomatoes, cukes and sweet peas. And some strawberries. .-= Janice´s last blog ..Whole(y) Wheat Cookies Batman =-.

We have already begun a little planting here….strawberries, several flavor of onions, lettuces, and several new fruit trees. I love bringing the fresh goodness of veggies to our table. I feel like I am spoiling the family which makes me so, so happy! Gardens such as these (and the one at the Biltmore House in NC) are such an inspiration to me! I love the smells of fresh veggies & herbs, as well as the beauty of the gardens themselves….so calm and relaxing.
