Vases of tulips around my home keep me going into Spring, and bring me so much joy!
I love the different colors in our yard. We have quite the variety right now. Last year I posted about my $3 yard sale find, and the post is on the SC Johnson site today. If you have a minute, would you head over to the SCJ Family Economics site and leave me a comment? You can read about it over there …
Candy striped tulips coming up right now.

Brought to the front door.

We have a Costco stash of paper tulips to eat on.

And a reminder of Easter day and our Easter table.

I brought an old painting that I had stored under my bed, back to life again!

Today the light was beautiful, I couldn’t resist sharing these with you!

I had some tulips inside by the front door (which just went bye-bye),but they lasted so long! And I see baby pink ones blooming in the front yard right now. The only thing about growing tulips, or any flowers, is that I’m not very good about getting outside to dead-head them. At times I wish I had a gardener. I guess I am our family’s gardener!
Do tulips bring sunshine to your life? And who is your family’s gardener?

Hi, I'm Sandy. Five years ago I stocked up on beautiful glasses from the Dollar Store. As I started writing about dinner parties, I realized that this “icon” portrays a great message. It says that dinner parties are attainable, they are affordable, and that they can be beautiful even when on a budget.

Mr. YH and I are both of Dutch ancestry (hence the YH name)- the picture on my home page is from Holland when we visited several years ago. You can look at my very first post and see some of the tulips we saw there, too. All that to say, YES!! Tulips make me happy!! I have been waiting for my vases to arrive so I can buy some down at the metro and have them all over the house! Cut-off sprite bottles just don’t do them justice- ha!

Tulips are my favorite! I love all the beautiful pictures!
Last year I took a flower arranging class, and the woman pushed back all of the petals to open up the tulip. I’d never seen anything like it! They kind of looked like fancy poppies. It works great in a smaller arrangement and I got a lot of great feedback on it.
Happy Friday!

Gorgeous! And needed this today, since it’s been raining here all week. (At this rate, we need every remaining day in 2010 to be sunny to get our annual average. Bhah!)

I {heart} tulips! Your pictures are beautiful. This spring/summer I hope to work in our yard and plant some tulips, roses, hydrangeas, and more. We moved in last August and so I hope to do the yard now. As for who the gardener in the family is, I guess that would be me, but I am not gifted in this area, but it does not keep me from trying!!!

I LOVE tulips. In fact I just said that I needed to plant some this fall. I haven’t bought any because they’re about $7 a bunch )C:
So yes, They bring me sunshine. I would say I’m my family’s gardener. My husband isn’t really into vegetables and flower gardens/beds. If he had his way, we’d have a grassless lawn too (C:

Oh, my word–what beautiful, beautiful tulips! Wow!
My husband has been traveling in Oregon this week (Portland and Eugene). He said it’s truly beautiful out there! Wish I could have been with him.

Thank you for sharing all the pictures of my favorite flowers! I love tulips! Living in Alaska means very expensive flowers but a couple times a year I splurge on them. My Easter ones died last weekend and now your pictures gave me the fix I needed to make it a little while longer. The ones in your front door container are gorgeous!

My mother in law once sent me a box of white tulips for my birthday! They were gorgeous and were the perfect pick me up in February! I haven’t planted any in my yard yet…maybe this will be the year!

I LOVE tulips! They have always been my favorite flower, not sure if it has something to do with my birthday being April 2nd, when tulips are just about to burst out! If I could have tulips in my home all year round, I would. I bought a great photograph of a tulip field near by my house about 15 years ago, and it hangs in my entry. There is nothing that says spring like tulips. I gotta get me some of those costco tulip paper supplies though, how did I miss those!???
