Sister Brunch: Easy, Delicious Breakfast Quiche!
I don’t know what it is about going to my sister’s house, but it’s always so relaxing.
We went to celebrate my sister Di’s birthday, and my other sister wanted to cook lunch. Well, really a brunch. It’s so much warmer going to a home for a birthday lunch, than a restaurant.
Mm-m-m-m, yummy Quiche, Muffins, Spinach Salad and Chocolate Mousse.
This is one recipe that I really wanted in my new book, that didn’t quite make it in. So I’ll share it with you today!
Breakfast Quiche
1 10″ pre baked pie shell
1/2 pound bacon, fried and broken into pieces
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1/3 cup minced onion
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups whipping cream (or 1/2 & 1/2)
1/2 tsp. salt
Pepper to taste
1/4 tsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. cayenne
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sprinkle bacon, cheese and onion on shell. Mix eggs and cream together; stir in remaining ingredients. Pour into crust. Bake 35-40 minutes or until knife in center comes out clean.
The best part about the day, besides the food and having fun with my sisters whom I love so much …
Was taking a nap.
I plopped down on the couch, put my feet up, and I was out. OUT! My sisters said I slept for 30 minutes.
Do you ever go places where you feel so relaxed, you not only put your feet up, you fall asleep?
Would you head over to SC Johnson today and leave me a comment on this post? Dish Duty: 101! I’d so appreciate it. (I am partnering/guest writing for SCJ’s Home Economic blog.)
This makes me miss my sisters!
Brunch is my favorite thing to host. Whenever the family’s in town, I always do. I usually have some kind of egg dish and your quiche looks yummy.

How fun!!!
This is so lovley to read. I have two sisters and I’m really glad I do. I love when my sister comes to visit in Aberdeen. It’s great to know that when we’re older we’ll have each other as well. I look forward to how our relationship will change and mature as we learn life’s lessons and support each other.
Also, I’ve been looking for a good quiche recipe recently so this is well times!
Thanks,
Jade

Lunch looks delicious. I had a bit of trouble with the comment section at the SC Johnson site so don’t know if mine will show up.

yeah, there’s clean up, and setting the table, and all of that preparation … but brunch at your own house with family is way better than any restaurant on the planet.

I love quiche and I adore my two MUCH younger sister’s. Looking forward to the youngest entering her more mature teenage years so that I will have some hair left to pull when I my boys hit those rough years.

Happy Birthday Diane!!
Whenever I get asked which resturant is my favorite, I always say, eating in a friends home is my first choice everytime. I can’t even think of a resturant I’d rather go too.
Love the pics of you girls. Love that you have each other.
I don’t have sisters but I can imagine how wonderful it must be. Your Brunch looks so fun.

On the Grand Tour of Upstate New York, I was falling asleep on the couches of people I’d never met. Not because I was comfortable, but because I was jetlagged and emotionally worn out from meeting 1001 new people.
Not my finest moments! I like your way much better. : )
