Kraft Foods: Food and Family Magazine!
I’m inspired by this NEW summer magazine that just came in the mail. And 33 fresh summer recipe ideas!
And this spread on page 19. I was honored when Kraft Foods included me from this trip.
But more importantly, the magazine came in perfect time for my son’s 18th birthday dinner.
The cover photo looked SO good. And I had all of the ingredients! Love it when that happens!
Using lettuce from our garden.
I started with bacon and red onion.
Then boiled some eggs. Do you know how to boil the perfect egg?
And leftover green beans from the night before (apricot and balsamic – yum!)
I added avocado because it’s my son’s favorite, and then croutons. Beautiful presentation.
And then I added a small amount of Kraft Classic Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing.
My kids were so happy. You can tell that a family grows up when they start loving salads! And the birthday boy was especially happy!
Does your family enjoy salads in the summertime? What’s a family favorite?
Don’t forget this amazing GIVEAWAY going on right now! 2 awesome books … winner announced on Wed. this week!
(This post is not sponsored by Kraft Foods, I just love their Food and Family magazine and their dressings made with Extra Virgin Olive Oil!)

The salad and the magazine look fantastic. My hubby and I eat a salad (at least one) every day. The kids are working on it. I am really into green smoothies…and my son loves them…so he is kind of eating salad without knowing it.

How exciting to be featured!
I love, I guess you could say, ‘non-traditional’ salads during the summer. Fresh corn, avocado chunks, farmers market tomatoes, cucumbers… and occasionally some actual lettuce :)

Sandy. that is so exciting. Happy for you. The lettuce is about the only thing doing much growing in our garden so far. We love salads. A friend of mine made a salad dressing out of olive juice and a little olive oil once and it was devine. So sinmple.

I love summer salads! One of my favorites is a big bowl of mixed greens topped with grilled chicken slices, fresh corn cut from the cob, cherry tomatoes, sunflower nuts, and whatever else might seem good at the time. Serve it with a chipotle ranch dressing. And lime chips and guac on the side. mmmmmmm…

Yay! Something to look forward to in the mail! I love Kraft f&f-I have made so many recipes from there that have become family staples. Your picture in the magazine is like a cherry on top!
We love salads too. We love simple green salads with a variety of toppings. We also love a variety of salads (like top ramen salad, potato salad, chinese chicken salad)…you name it, we love it!
can’t wait for my family and food magazine to come!
Congratulations to your son and the whole family (I think it takes a WHOLE family).
The salad looks great, my favorite is a good Cobb salad. Although I’m not a big fan of chain resturaunts I will say that Marie Callendars does a great Cobb Salad. I go there and with my Mom each time I go visit her and always get their salad.

i can’t wait to start eating salads again after a low residue diet for MONTHS!
They do a great job with that magazine. I actually take inspiration from their photography. {{Congrats}} I really don’t cook unless my husband is ill :), but salad in the summer are great, along with tuna & chicken salads too!
How very fun to see yourself in a magazine.
Our favorite summer salad includes grilled chicken tenders on a bed of romaine and a topping bar so that everyone makes it the way they love it.

Favorite summer salad: an Asian cole slaw with grilled chicken. Couple of dressing variations: either a mix of sesame oil, olive oil, and rice wine vinegar, or very light oil with sugar and rice wine vinegar.
Lovely photography again, as usual.
