Simple Letters, A Beautiful Word: NOEL!
I love the simplicity, but deep meaning of this word …
NOEL.
1. Christmas; also, a shout of joy at Christmas for the birth of the Savior. [Obs.]2. (Mus.) A kind of hymn, or canticle, of medi[ae]val origin, sung in honor of the Nativity of our Lord; a Christmas carol. –Grove.

This year I decided to only use half of my Christmas decorations. I wanted to decorate more simply (using greenery from the outdoors) and I must say it feels much better and somehow freeing.
Anyway, here’s a simple decorating touch. I used my daughter’s music stand in the corner of the room to hold these simple letters to create this beautiful word: Noel.
I love the reminder to our family that this is what Christmas is about.
What’s your favorite Christmas word?

Beautiful Sandy, I too love simplicity – sometimes less is definatly “more”. Have a wonderful, wonderful Christmas & THANK YOU so much for your wonderful book Reluctant Entertainer. I’m so excited to have won, this is absolutely a fabulous gift. Have a great holiday season, take care & enjoy!
Me too! Me too!! I love “Noel.” I have a set of four little angels–antiques now–that sit always on the bureau in my foyer. Each little angel holds a letter. They spell “NOEL.” (Unless my youngest plays with them, in which case they may spell “Leon.”)
So many wonderful words this season, so much to thank God for. What a gift He gave us.
Have a blessed Christmas, Sandy!
Emmanuel- God With Us! The most glorious gift ever given to mankind. Merry Christmas!
I love simplicity at Christmastime. I also love fresh greenery. Your table is beautiful.
I love it, Sandy! Merry Christmas to you and your family~

Sandy, I love your NOEL, so pretty. I only got out 1/2 mine this year too, even though it still looks like a lot. I have been planning to go more natural for years and next year I just might get rid of a lot of my current stuff.
Merry Christmas, friend!!
I love so many words! Yours, Noel is one of them. Also, JOY, BELIEVE, CELEBRATE. I have a word cut-out on a shelf that says PEACE & JOY. It’s such a great reminder to me during the hustle and bustle of the season.
Hi Sandy,
How nice of you to visit my blog. I just checked out yours. What a talented girl you are! I love the use of the music stand and the colorful Noel letters. I look forward to seeing more of your posts. Shannon
I love how you used your daughter’s music stand. NOEL is the best word ever! Wishing you and yours all the joy of the season, Sandy. I’m delighted to have stumbled upon you on Twitter. Elen

My favorite would be Emmanuel “God With Us”…. LOVE how you used the letters… oooooo gives me an idea to start for next year….. wondering how I could encorporate some of the cool letters at JoAnns for my home… :o) love how you used them on music stand too.
I second Immanuel!
“Peace”. Not as the world gives . . .what a reminder!
Your home is SO beautiful.
Immanuel.
