Love is … 4 Giveaway Items That Will Refresh Your Soul!
Love is … patient, kind, does not envy, does not boast, is not proud, is not rude, is not self-seeking … (I Corinthians 13)
This beautiful passage is all-too-familiar to me, because I’ve heard it all of my life; I even memorized it as a child. It’s easy to read, but not always easy to live out – completely. I don’t know about you, but I really want to learn how to love more.
It’s easy to love when life is cruising along just fine.
It’s hard to love when life gets complicated and painful.
I have the above “list” posted on my refrigerator, as a gentle reminder as I walk by, of God’s love that is foundational for all other loves. It reminds me that true love gives itself freely as a gift, not as a bribe for something in return. It doesn’t bargain or manipulate or seek to control. It protects, trusts, and hopes.
And it captures my heart.
Today on RE, before we come together at the Relevant ’11 conference later this year, Tsh Oxenriender (Simple Mom), Ann Voskamp (Holy Experience), and I are giving away copies of our books, along with a gorgeous, springy apron from Debbie (The Hip Hostess).
Consider this giveaway a beautiful GIFT OF LOVE from the 4 of us to you.
Comment to WIN (one of these items) that I promise will refresh your soul:

I love the part about keeping no record of wrongs.
LOVE… Love never fails because it comes from God.
Thanks for the giveaway.
Love always trusts.
Love never fails. The reminder that Love is Who and not what I do. Love is He who first loved us, and He is always in the process of making us His. The more fully we are His, the more totally we love. I fail those I love. Those I love fail me. But Love never fails. I am so thankfully undone by this. Thank you, Love, for making us Yours.

I’m giving a talk in church this Sunday, & as I’ve been preparing I just found a quote that relates so well to love not keeping a record of wrongs. Once we’ve fully repented of our sins, “I, the Lord, remember them no more,” so why do we all insist on dredging them up for one another?
Oh dear, patience and kindness in my home are glaring weaknesses of mine in my home which makes me cringe because elsewhere I would never dream of being impatient or rude or unkind…. sigh… glad it is God who is working in and through me.
Without Love, I am (at best) a clanging cymbal!
Just added RE to my google reader. :)
I just put it as my FB status. :)
I so love “Love never fails.” What a deep, deep comfort for me. For us.
And I put it on facebook. :)
Love always ENDURES! I consistently find hope that loving on is exactly the love Christ gives me and now I in response give that to others!
The verse that touches me the most is 1 Corinthians 13:7!!
And I’ve become a new follower on your RSS feed. :)
Love keeps no record of wrongs. Just so powerful…because usually we remember things people did wrong, even when we say we’ve forgiven them or we’ve chosen not to confront them. It’s a really powerful and beautiful concept.
Love Never Fails!!!! That is all it takes. Love, Love, Love – no matter what!
I have a cross with that scripture engraved on it.
Love protects.
I am a follower!
Love is kind! I certainly think all are important, but how wonderful is it to *just* be kind.
I am reading Tsh’s book now. It is so awesome and life changing!
wow, all of it captures me … but for today, keeping no record of wrongs hits home.
Love perseveres. Love never fails.
No matter what we go through in life or our relationships, love perseveres. It’s an action verb. A decision and a commitment. It’s a covenant sealed by God. It’s the arms around you when the whole world seems to be falling apart around you. It’s the assurance when things don’t go as smoothly or perfectly as we’d like, there is still someone who L.O.V.E.S you.
And isn’t that what really matters at the end of the day?
In that knowledge and assurance the tingly, happy, warm feelings flow.
Love delights in the truth! But I change my mind depending on my mood. :)
