A tablescape doesn’t have to be complicated when you’re entertaining outdoors.

I always look around to see what’s blooming in the yard before I choose my tablecloth, and then set my table.

Fresh blooms, a clean space, a light appetizer. You don’t even have to have a big meal to share an intimate time with friends.

For this centerpiece I used fresh mint from the back yard.

And mixed in pansies.

Get out of the habit of “over-doing” with your table by making it too elaborate.

Summer entertaining should be fresh and simple.

Oh, and with the ambience of lots of candles!
