The season of Spring is here, at least in Oregon. Today I’m happy to spread that love to you in the form of entertaining!
Are you planning ahead to your Easter feast in a couple of weeks? Well, this week, ONE WINNER can receive some beautiful items to help you get the table set, the menu planned, and the party on! I’m partnering with these companies who are providing these gifts, except for PB (I’m providing the gift card).
Here’s what you can win today:
-Pottery Barn $50 gift card
-Harry & David Northwest Smoked Salmon
-Harry & David Lemon Mousse Cake
-Bridget Edwards, Decorating Cookies, new book
-The Hip Hostess apron & (8) Spring cloth napkins
The table and the food and the springy feel in the air fills the house with love, excitement, newness, color, tastes, and textures.
This truly is one of my favorite seasons of all!
THE SETTING:
Pottery Barn: $50 gift card to buy whatever you’d like. Maybe some new stemware, a water pitcher, or even accessory items for your table?
The Hip Hostess: Debbie has provided us with these beautiful festive Easter napkins for a setting of 8! I love the bright yellow color.

She’s also sewing this gorgeous apron – perfect for Easter morn!

THE FOOD:
Harry & David: Northwest Smoked Salmon
Smoked salmon is a party pleaser, especially for special occasions like Easter brunch! It makes a great appetizer or you can serve it as an entrée.

I love this Harry & David Easter-y dessert! It’s a gourmet mousse cake with a little tanginess to it, with the perfect amount of sweetness.

Bridget Edward’s New Book: Decorating Cookies
Bridget Edward’s (who blogs at Bake at 350) new book, will get you in the cookie-baking-mood with her delicious, easy recipes!

My daughter and I had fun in the kitchen and I think we ate more cookies than we made. It’s a great way to include the younger kids, or even the older. Her easy designs are incredible as she walks you through the process.
Bringing everyone together in the kitchen for Easter is one of my favorite activities.

Hi, I'm Sandy. Five years ago I stocked up on beautiful glasses from the Dollar Store. As I started writing about dinner parties, I realized that this "icon" portrays a great message.
I want to share with you some of my favorite places to visit in blog-land, sites that I learn from and am inspired by, and some beautiful friends that I’ve met over the years.

After we have had a nice lunch (usually outdoors on the deck if weather is nice) one or two adults will hide the Easter eggs. I love to hide them as much as watching my grandchildren find them!…a few years we have found some from the previous Easter!

I enjoy family traditions on Easter…My daughter getting a letter from the Easter bunny, looking for hidden eggs etc. But the best is getting the entire family to gether and making traditional polish dishes that I can remember my great grandmother and grand mother making. Traditions are a beautiful thing that I want my daughter to have and we share them with any foster children that may be with us at that time.
I repinned this contest..

My favorite part of Easter entertaining is continuing on with my own Easter tradition of making tiramisu from scratch. I have had to make one every year since regardless of where in the country Easter dinner happens to be.

The last few years I have made lamb… I usually start marinating it Friday night. This might sound kind of weird but the ritual of it is a great Good Friday reminder for me of the Lamb that was sacrificed for me. It’s become a very special time for me in preparation and reflection.

The best part of entertaining on Easter is teaming up with my mother to execute the best dinner and tablescape we can for the family.
After that, cooking and baking takes over my day, followed by eating, family fun, and hiding easter eggs for the niece and nephew to find.
I hope this tradition never ends.

We’ve been out of town the past few years and typically celebrated Easter with friends over a nice homemade dinner. I’m starting to think about ways to make Easter special for my family and start meaningful traditions. However, this year I will be a few days postpartum after having baby #2, so whatever celebrating we do will probably be something small for the kids.

My favorite part is putting on a cute apron and pretending I just whipped the meal up in five minutes before the guests arrived.

Doing things with the kids to help them understand the meaning of the day. Like making resurrection rolls together and such.

Having family together and watching the little ones hiding eggs and enjoying springtime.

My grandparents instilled in us the tradition of going to church, then a family Easter egg hunt and finishing up with a wonderful lunch! It was a lot of Faith, Fun and Family!

Entertaining on Easter Sunday consists of eating a meal with my kids and sometimes my extended family, playing board or card games & enjoying the time we have to spend together. Pretty simple but absolutely perfect. Nothing fancy, though:)

My favorite part of entertaining on Easter is decorating Easter eggs with the kids and then watching them search for them while the adults enjoy lunch!

Since I am Jewish, I spend the day with my husband’s non-Jewish family. It is so much fun to watch the little ones hunt for Easter eggs! I love spending the time with his family. There is always way too much delicious food, and if Passover overlaps with Easter as it does this year, I bring yummy Passover treats as well.

The tradition of the menu! Ham…pickled eggs & beets…a fabulous dessert! A beautiful table & settings & an edible birds nest with chocolate eggs. Makes me happy! He is risen! And we’re celebrating!

Since I was a little kid my family has always gathered at my grandparents house for and easter egg hunt, easter egg decorating and the main event, an easter egg fight. This event isn’t as messy as the name would lead you to believe, no clothes get dirtied though my competitive family might damage you just a smidgen emotionally. Essentially you hard boil eggs, decorate them and pair up, then you smash the tips of the eggs together and whoever has the crackfree egg moves onto the next round until the victor is crowned! It’s so much fun and gets the whole family involved.

I would have to say that my favorite part of entertaining on Easter is the same as any other time… the people and just being together. The next favorite (if the weather holds up) is being outside after having come through the winter. Thank you for putting together this giveaway opportunity!! and Happy Pre-Easter to YOU!
