Ingredients for Baked Orange-Spiced Salmon

It’s a recipe with a quick marinade, healthy and delicious that uses the following ingredients:

  • Fresh-squeezed orange juice
  • Fresh lime juice
  • Honey
  • Chili powder
  • Ground cumin
  • Sea salt
  • Salmon

Which spices go well with salmon?

Be creative, experiment with herbs and spices and citrus to make delicious salmon entrees!

There are so many herbs and spices that go well with salmon. We love dill, basil, tarragon, sage, rosemary, bay leaves, and parsley. Thyme, cilantro and fennel are delicious, too. 

When you don’t know what you’re cooking, this recipe is super easy to throw together–a delicious combination.

This easy salmon takes about 2 hours from start to finish, resulting in a flavorful delicious dinner!

Salmon is one of my go-to fish choices when I’m cooking seafood, because it’s readily available, versatile, and on the table in 12-15 minute.

It’s also nutritious, and we love the leftovers. But it’s all about the seasoning (and marinades).

Should I season my salmon overnight?

This recipe calls for marinating the salmon for 2 hours. Some marinades are very strong, so overnight might be too much. It is not recommended to marinate this recipe longer than 24 hours.

What do you serve with Orange Salmon?

This Orange-Spiced Salmon features honey for a bit of sweetness, and then orange and lime citrus, with favorite spices.

It pairs well with asparagus, green beans, or any side salad.

How to Make Baked Orange-Spiced Salmon Recipe

  1. Combine orange juice, lime juice, honey, chili powder, cumin, and salt in a small bowl.
  2. Place salmon in a shallow glass pan; top with marinade. Cover and refrigerate overnight (or for at least 2 hours). Optional to place filet in a Ziploc bag; pour in the marinade and seal.
  3. Bake until done (turns white), or until salmon flakes easily with a fork, or is not spongy feeling when pressed with a spatula.

Ingredients
 

  • ½ cup fresh-squeezed orange juice
  • 4 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 2 pounds salmon, about 1” thick filets

Instructions
 

  • Combine orange juice, lime juice, honey, chili powder, cumin, and salt in a small bowl; mix well.
  • Place salmon in a shallow glass pan; top with marinade. Cover and refrigerate overnight (or for at least 2 hours). Optional to place filet in a Ziploc bag; pour in the marinade and seal.
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, until done (turns white), or until salmon flakes easily with a fork, or is not spongy feeling when pressed with a spatula.
