One-Minute Nordic Ware Microwave Egg Muffin Pan and National Hot Breakfast Month
Did you know that February is National Hot Breakfast month?
(Don’t you wonder who comes up with these cool celebrations?)
Woo Hoo! I love hot breakfasts!
In my home I don’t monitor our morning meal as much as I used to when the kids were little, because my two youngest are now in high school (and one away at college); they all make their own hot breakfasts.
But once I discovered this cool kitchen gadget years ago (I found it at Wal Mart for $3.29), breakfast-making got a whole lot easier for my family.
It’s a little microwavable bowl that holds an egg, plus omelete-type ingredients, called the Nordic Ware Microwave Egg Muffin Pan.
Who doesn’t love an Egg McMuffin?
All you do is add your egg, your meat or cheese, salt and pepper, close the lid, and MICROWAVE for 1 MINUTE!
-Crack an egg into the bowl; stir with a fork.
-Add bacon or sausage if desired.
-Cook for about 1 minute in the microwave.
-Sprinkle with cheese and let sit for 30 seconds.
-Serve on an english muffin or toast.
It’s that easy! And your kids can make their own breakfast, almost at any age.
Happy Weekend, friends! We’ve had a warm spell and it feels like Springtime in Oregon. It’s been heavenly …
Do you serve your kids in the morning, or do they make their own breakfast?
(This post is purely my own opinion of the Nordic Ware Microwave Egg Muffin Pan.)

It’s good to know those work well – I may have to pick up a couple! My two oldest would love to make their own eggs in the morning. Better than cereal, especially the sugar cereals I’ve been picking up lately.
My kids are on their own during the week unless it’s a holiday when I make something special. But weekends, my husband and I make big breakfasts.
We eat alot of breakfast around these parts! This gadget would make our egg sausage sandwiches much easier!
I have seen these eggs in a microwave a lot lately. The Hungry Girl has many different varieties in her cookbooks. I think you can do the same thing with eggs but in a microwave safe mug.
BTW-My kids are on their own!
I love quick eggs! i’ve added scallions, and cheese, super easy and yummy! I don’t have a nordic pan, just spray a little ramekin with nonstick cooking spray and it works like a charm!
Hi Sandy,
That is just the cutest little kitchen gadget!
Yes – I still make my breakfast for my baby…even though my “baby” is a teenager! ;-) I love to make a hot breakfast for him which usually consists of eggs, bacon or sausage, toast with lots of butter and jam, and a big glass of fresh milk I get from a local farm.
But I have also taught our son to cook, so sometimes on the weekend he takes over the egg duty. It’s cute to watch him crack the shells, beat the eggs, and pour them into the pan. He’s still a little gangly which makes it all the cuter. My friends tease me that I am creating a future good husband for some lucky girl. Hope they’re right!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Love,
Mary
PS – – – It’s rainy and cold here in the Hill Country! (But glad to get a break from the drought!) What happened?…Are we getting Oregon weather!?! ;-)
Both. Sometimes I make it, but often, they make their own.
Does the egg stick in the gadget? We do this now just using a bowl and even when we grease the bowl, the egg is still stuck on good and hard to scrub!
I love this idea! My 12 year old loves eggs and making her own breakfast. Gonna pick one up this weekend!! :o)
Cute gadget. I remember having something like this for my kids when they were younger. Now it’s just the hubby and me for breakfasts eaten at different times. I’m a fruit and yogurt person and have been sprinkling hempseeds over it lately to boost the fibre.
Works wonders on the old digestion.
Cute gadget, although I actually do the same thing in a little Pyrex dish I have. I also make oatmeal in the microwave occasionally. I do like a hot breakfast on a cold rainy morning.

What a cool gadget! I have to look for it! My kids get served every morning :) they are still young as you know but loooove their breakfast time! Lots of waffles, pancakes, eggs or oatmeal floating around our kitchen weekday mornings! That egg thingie could come in very handy!!
Okay, I’m OTW to go buy one of those! What a GREAT invention…. wanna make those for breakfast this morning!!! To answer your question: I like to serve my kiddos! :-)
Oh, I like that gadget!!! We have a hot breakfast nearly every morning. After my morning workout, I am ready to eat! :) Plus, it just sets the day off right.
