My friend Lori, RecipeGirl, and I recently traveled to New York City for a Pepperidge Farm event, but decided to add a few days on to enjoy the city! I’m so glad we did, because not only did we stay in a fabulous hotel, St. Giles The Tuscany, we visited with some brands, ate, shopped, went to see a show, and did I mention that we ate? LOL. NYC has some of the best restaurants! And, we lucked out with sunshine!

We were very blessed to stay at The Tuscany, a St. Giles Tuscany Hotel. The rooms were so spacious, and the decor was a balance of cool modernism mixed with the warmth of classical.

It’s located along 39th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues and only a few steps away from Grand Central Terminal.I personally loved this location. I have been to NYC quite a few times now and I really enjoyed being close enough to walk to our favorite destinations, but a little off the beaten path, which was much quieter.

Every morning they had a beautiful breakfast for the guests, and for those who love Starbucks (espresso every morning – hand raised high!), there’s one located right around the corner from the hotel. In the evening, the breakfast nook was turned into a mini bar for the hotel guests.

Chic and classy.

Plenty of space.

Gorgeous views.

We enjoyed stunning views of Manhattan’s world-famous skyline, including The Empire State Building and Chrysler Building, and on the first night the sun was shining perfectly for this photo. The first day, we met up with Maggy, from Three Many Cooks. Maggy and her mom and sister have some exciting news (sh-h-h … could it possibly be a new book?).

We visited Martha Stewart’s office, as Lori and I both work with their brand and got to meet these cutie girls, Krissy, Tara, and Jane. We felt lucky when we happened to be standing in the foyer when “Martha’s fresh eggs” were delivered. That’s right. Every day, fresh eggs are set out and the staff (first come, first serve) get to help themselves.

We toured the facility and saw lots of colorful props. And yes, Martha did say hello to Lori and me … briefly. She looked fabulous, as always.

The girls steered us in the right direction for lunch as we walked in the sunshine to Ovest Pizzoteca, where we ate an authentic New York “Martha” pizza with prosciutto, basil, and truffle oil.

In between shopping, visiting Eataly, seeing a show, and meeting up with other friends and brands (our new friends Stephanie and Claire), I must say my favorite meal for the week was when we met Gina (SkinnyTaste) and Joanne (Fifteen Spatulas) for dinner at Spice Market. Let me just say, every bite made my little taste buds dance. Wow! Probably my favorite dining experience in NY this trip. Thanks, Gina!

We also ate at the famous ABC Kitchen Restaurant. It was my first time to try fiddleheads. They’re … interesting. We ate asparagus and bacon pizza and a delicious kale salad, too. ABC’s food is all organic.

And Empellon Taqueria in Greenwich Village, which has the best tacos I’ve ever tasted. And dipping sauces!

We indulged in sweets from Magnolia Bakery after our tacos, and ate it in the park, to celebrate our last night together. Thanks for the instagram, Glory!

We ended with our trip to Pepperidge Farms, where we spent the day at their headquarters in Connecticut, and my contest winner, Rebecca from Foodie with Family, joined me! I’ll be sharing more photos and delicious recipes in a future post, but for now, if you head to NYC and need a roomy, beautiful place to stay, I really believe that you can’t go wrong with The Tuscany Hotel.

And, because tulips were all over the city, and I love them so … I’m ending with this stunning view of tulips right in Herald Square.

Be still my heart.

Where is your favorite place to stay in NYC when you travel?

Thank you Pepperidge Farm for sponsoring my trip, and to The Tuscany Hotel, for making our stay there possible!
