I started the New Year…yesterday by inviting some women over for coffee/muffins/fruit…one last Holiday gathering, but also to start the Year with an inviting feeling. I struggle with January, and know that social connections make me happy…and get the house cleaned. :) I also feel sometimes like I invite people a fair bit, but rarely get invited…but I’m not going to let it stop me…even though I do grumble about it once in awhile. Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family.

I had to smile when I pulled up this post this morning. We rang in the new year at my sister’s house (happily watching Georgia Tech clean-up in the Orange Bowl!). After hosting Christmas Day at my house, I kept hearing “I didn’t know so and so was doing that, when did so and so get so tall, etc.” I decided that I would start a family supper club. I have 10 brothers and sisters most of us live within a 30 mile radius of each other. Everybody jokingly calls me the family communicator. But we all get caught up in our own lives and things start slipping through the cracks. I proposed we get together once a month for dinner so everybody will be up on each other and each other’s families. We’re going to draw a name at each dinner for the next month host. Everybody that was there on New Year’s Eve was in! I’ll let you know how it goes. I host the first dinner at the end of January.

Love this post, and what what you’re saying about living a more connected life with one another. sometimes we have to be the ones to do it first, invite others, but getting out of your comfort zone, etc. taking your eyes off yourself, soo true!
