I feel incredibly lucky to live in Portland! I grew up on the Lake, that was a great place for you to begin your trip!

As far as Portland eats, my favorite for a while has been Departure – I send everyone there these days (I ate there twice this weekend!). and of course the food carts – we definitely have some great ones!

How very, very special! What a great trip! I’ve never been to Portland to actually get out of the car and take in the city. I was visiting a friend in Washington state years and years ago. She took me through Portland, and I have a blurry photo that says City of Roses….so I can say I’ve seen a part of the interstate around Portland. :)

Happy Birthday in advance. My birthday is next week, too(but I’ll be 61, oh to be 50 again!) . It’s July 2nd, and I’m celebrating this year by going to Williamsburg, VA. We lived there once for ten years, and we’re going back to see the sights! I’ll have to come back on your giveaway post to try and win the Kitchenaid! That would be a grand gift!

How fun! My girls threw me a food-themed bachelorette party in Portland in 2007 and it was awesome. We live in Seattle and get down there anytime we can to eat our way through the city! I really love the Paragon in the Pearl District for dinner.

So glad you girls had a great weekend. I sadly don’t get to Portland enough to shop or eat :( but I have eaten at a food cart called Shut Up and Eat and it was amazing! The Pearl District and downtown 23rd ave is always neat. Next time you’re there, try an ice cream shop called Salt and STraw. My girls went there a few weeks back and said it was really good. Their flavors are EXTREMELY unique!

I have two sisters and we too have taken “sister vacations” over the years. We are now 78, 75 and 71 and still love the adventure. We are so blessed. Happy Birthday!
