Loved this breakfast cake! I substituted 3/4 C of maple syrup for the sugar and used Gluten Free all purpose flour. This cake baked up heavy & hearty & heavenly. My whole house smelled warm & cozy like a Granny’s house should. I will make this a family favorite! 
P.S. You can wrap this cake in a napkin and throw it in your pocket or backpack for a snack later.
