I’ve never tried black bean brownies, but since I canned black beans this year and I’m diabetic, it sounds like something to try! I stumbled across this while looking for recipes for canning cherries. I have already made some half pint jars of cherry jam and some pint jars of whole, pitted cherries in extra light syrup. I got into canning over the last year and got a pressure canner at Christmas. The most interesting thing I’ve canned so far is chicken. (Used some in a broccoli rice casserole and it was really good! Thanks for the brownie recipe!

Hi Sandy, I tried your recipe for the black bean brownies, but instead of whole wheat I used spelt flour. I turned out great!!!! delicious!! thank so much for the great recipe!!! Canned fruits and vegetables always remind me of my grandmother’s cooking. She used to bake amazing pies out of canned fruits! Makes me wanna try it myself.

I’m so looking forward to learning how to can after we move into our new home. I have fond memories of my mom canning during the summers, and my grandma still sends me home with jars of home-canned pickles every time I see her!
