I just read my comment on the original post…..I now have a smart phone again, but really try to keep it put away when we are at someone’s house, out at a restaurant or when we have people over. Aside from taking a few necessary pics, I don’t check social media if I can avoid. I really just am trying to be more present. It just really depends on the setting, etc. I probably wouldn’t ask people to set phones aside (I’m not confrontational…lol) but I do appreciate it when the phones are away. If someone needed to post or wanted to post something we were doing on an instastory or FB, then great maybe say something that lets them know. You, as a blogger, I would have no problem if I was at your house or you were at mine and you took pictures or posted to stories…

Sandy, I couldn’t agree more with you about the cell phone etiquette. Can you imagine if you were at a dinner party or out to coffee with friends, and someone took out a book and started reading? At Whatever Girls meetings I started putting out a little basket for people to put their phones during the meeting. Not just for the girls-some of the moms were worse about checking their phones. I could go on and on :)

This recipe looks and sounds absolutely delicious!

I was at the Dollar Tree last week and thought of you while I was on the drink-ware aisle. They have a really nice selection right now.

It is about proper manners. I don’t mind checking if everyone is at the same time, but then back into the purse it needs to go. I struggle with this myself … but we’re really trying to not be “those people” Flavia! Thanks for sharing, girl!

As a full-time blogger, Instagram is very important (for me), so I have to curtail my useage around people! It’s all about moderation. :) Great tip — going to a “dumb” (hee hee) phone if you can do it! :)

I so agree about the cell phone thing. Way back when I worked outside the home I left my cell and my pager in my car when I went to see a customer. I didn’t even think it was polite to look at either (to see who it was) while I was taking up that persons time.
The only cell phone I have now is always turned off unless I have an emergency and need to use it.
