#5 is so critical. I have to start out by saying to myself, “Don’t forget to pay attention to your honey.” Last night, I shut the laptop and went over to hang out on the couch with him. Best decision ever.

Another one, holiday stress and holiday festiveness are both contagious. Spread good cheer not anxiety. I have to remember that one myself too!

Those look delicious, Sandy! I think your wisdom is spot-on! After living overseas the first time, I think I had a reality check as far as things and relationships and time. I purged a lot of decor and try to keep it simple- simple to move, simple to store, and simple to put out. It seems like this time of year always gets a bit busy, but I’m the type that likes to measure out my stressors (good or bad ones!) so we can just enjoy being.

These look yummy! My MIL always makes Date Nut Pudding. Basically a dense, date filled cake that is broken up in to pieces and folded in to whipped cream.

I decided this year to really simplify…less decorations, smaller tree, not many expectations…just need a simple Christmas this year.
