A few weeks ago, 2 days before Larry’s birthday I decided I wanted to celebrate him with our closest friends! So I sent out a text invite and although last minute everyone came! We had the best time, I picked up a sandwich tray & chicken from the deli, put out fruit, chips & salsa. It was a wonderful evening of being with friends. As much as I want to cook it up for a get together right now it’s not easy, but I didn’t let it stop me from opening our home and spending time with friends. It was fulfilling in so many ways.

I love this post. Intimacy does come through intentionality. I just spent lunch with two GirlFriends… intentionally spending time with one another to enjoy a wonderful meal and dive into each other’s lives. What a rich blessing that is! PS ~ Can I be honest and say I have not tasted a beet since I was a child and I cannot imagine trying them now. One of those things I HATED and have not tried again. I keep hearing about them, so I may be coerced into giving them one more try. :-)

I love, love beets….gotta try the recipe….and, I don’t know why I don’t entertain more….I love to cook, so that’s not the problem….it could be I don’t like many of our friends right now…..need to work on making new friends. thanks!!

Loved your thoughts today! I have recently decided to be a little more purposeful in my entertaining by hosting a small gathering once per month. We started with a valentine’s day dinner. I have a tendency to focus on the planning, serving, making perfect etc, so I am trying to be more intentional in enjoying the guests and the conversation.
