This stylish and centrally located, Hotel Vintage Seattle: Tulio Restaurant, has everything you want for your next downtown Seattle experience.Seattle Hotel Vintage and Tulio RestaurantHotel Vintage is a stylish boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Seattle, offering exceptional hospitality and one of the finest restaurants in Seattle, Tulio.

My husband and I recently enjoyed our stay, and the beautiful “Emerald City,” as we visited our daughter who’s in college there. If you have never been in a Kimpton hotel before, you need to put it on your “wish list.” I’ve been a lucky girl to stay in their Monaco Portland, Oregon, Alexis Hotel in Seattle, and Hotel Eventi New York City hotels, and quite honestly, they are my very favorite hotel chain. I’ll explain why……

Christmas in Seattle

Inspired by Christmas, the town was lit up with and full of holiday cheer. Downtown Seattle’s Westlake Center’s celebration, their famous 161-foot high Christmas tree, Macy’s Holiday Star, and lots of twinkling lights on every street, were so enjoyable, as we walked for miles, occasionally using UBER.

The lobby and location

From the minute we walked into Hotel Vintage, we were greeted by staff and a gorgeous wine tree set up in the lobby.

The lobby is very intimate, and we loved visiting every night with new people during the complimentary wine hour from 5-6 pm!

We enjoyed live music, a toasty fire, great appetizers (grapes and goat cheese ), and getting to know new friends from all around the world.

We loved the location of this hotel, on the corner of 5th Aveune and Spring, and only minutes from Pike Place Market, with great shopping and so many incredible Seattle restaurants. We walked most places, but also Ubered around Seattle, as we visited our daughter in college.

There’s a very small fitness center available to guests, with 3 cardio machines and some weights. They also offer the option of a larger fitness facility for free, within walking distance of the hotel.

Also, pets are always welcome at the Kimptons! We met our dream dog, a Shiba Inu! So adorable!

The desk staff were always so quick and helpful. They gave us great tips, and in Kimpton style, had a beautiful hospitality basket waiting for us in our room!

The beautiful room

From the minute we stepped foot into our beautiful corner suite, we felt that we were home.

On the 7th floor, our room overlooked the very cool-looking Seattle Public Library, with a view of the skyline, and the courthouse.

Surrounded by windows, the suite had a sitting area with chair and sleeper sofa, nice-sized flat-screen TV, fridge/dresser, and coffee table.

The Kimpton beds are always so ridiculously comfy, with nice, sparkling bathrooms, and there’s always a stylish bathrobe waiting for you! In-room coffee is always available (a quick push on the Keurig button), or you can enjoy fresh coffee bright and early down in the hotel lobby!

The rooms was tastefully furnished, with beautiful, soothing colors and patterns. I’ve stayed in many Kimpton hotels, and they are the classiest when it comes to design and comfort!

Did I mention we loved the wine cork headboard? Great DIY project for 2016. What fun we could have making one of these for almost any room in the house, really.

Magic in Pike Place Market

Each year, the Pike Place Market gets all holiday-ish and looks like magic in the market. You can shop for local gifts or flowers, visit the restaurants, enjoy coffee and apple cider, and hot chocolate. It’s full of life, lights, and love! So festive!

The Pink Door, Seattle

We heard about an Italian-American restaurant hidden in an alley in the heart of Pike Place Market, The Pink Door.

We found it, after walking to the end of Post Alley, and we had the most delicious lunch in this quaint, delicious, secret, restaurant.

Storyville, Pike Place, Seattle

You know that Seattle is known for their coffee. Every morning, we’d walk down to Storyville Coffee for our morning espresso on 1st and Madison.

But then, we were also able to enjoy the main Storyville at Pike Market for these treats!

The Sacred Sounds of Christmas

Each year, Seattle receives a special gift from Seattle Pacific University — the Sacred Sounds of Christmas Concert. My husband and I, my dad and his wife, felt so honored that we could attend this year. It was the perfect way to start off the season, with the best of sacred Advent music from around the world– traditional Advent and Christmas carols, performed by the Seattle Pacific University’s nationally recognized student and faculty musicians. The concert sells out quickly each year; I totally can see why!

Our daughter was one of the violinists! We felt so honored to attend, along with my Dad and his wife, Ginny!

Freemont, WA

Visiting Freemont

After Ubering up to SPU, where our daughter attends, we took a stroll through Freemont.

We ate lunch at Pie. Let me just say this, if you’ve never eaten here, put it on your bucket list. We devoured 6 small pies between the 3 of us. The best crust ever!!

Walked around the quaint little city, then ended up on the beautiful walk along the canal. Gorgeous!

Tulio Restaurant

I’m saving the best for last.

Tulio is a pleasant Italian restaurant right next door to Hotel Vintage. It’s one of the finest Italian restaurants in Seattle, and also provides service to the hotel.

We had the most delightful dining experience, with Leia as our server. She started us off with their famous Sweet Potato Gnocchi (with sage, butter, and mascarpone), and a creamy burrata with Brussels sprouts, caramelized figs, and saba.

Next, a Tuscan Kale Salad with shaved apple, pine nuts, bread crumbs, and a light citrus dressing with  a small dish of Pappardelle, a lamb ragu with pecorino and fresh oregano.

We love to share our main courses, so a combo of the fresh Sword Fish and the Veal Chop with baby carrots, glazed onions, and “fried” rosemary, was most delightful.

Leia helped us decide what foods to try, and surprised us with dessert, a Chocolate Torte with Italian Honey Cream, and Tiramisu. She also served a port called Porto Kopke 1985 Colheita, which was out of this world. Never had a port quite like this!
