Apartment dweller here. We have a lovely balcony, with seating for four, but it was just pulling teeth to get people out there.

So at our last party, we put the cooler with all the beer out there. Worked wonders :)

I don't have outdoor furniture anymore. Sadly we had to sell it when we moved because it wouldn't fit in our trailer. I want so badly to buy a cute table so we can entertain outdoors here in the summer, but we can't buy one because we will be moving back in a year and it wont fit in our trailer. For now, I will just admire your beautiful backyard!

Perhaps this sounds like an excuse, but we haven't been anywhere long enough yet to even think of buying a table. Well, I suppose we've thought, but we've never gone farther than that! It's on the "one day, maybe" list! But I love yours and IKEA is just so fun!

I bought this condo because of the patio. It's 16 x 16 - large enough to actually use to entertain. My own unit surrounds it on two sides (patio doors from both the living room and the downstairs bedroom, which is my sewing studio), with a high privacy wall between my unit and the one next door. A pretty brick wall sits on the fourth side, to make things cozy and fairly private. It's both protected from the wind and south facing - essential if you plan to use the space well into fall, as Wisconsin can get pretty chilly.

The furniture came from the previous owners - a 54" round table and four chairs. It serves for now, but there is plenty of room for a rectangular table and seating for six, without crowding and with room safely left for the grill and a small serving/drinks table. For now, though, I need to be content with filling the gigantic urns (three of them, also left by the previous owners) with flowers and having very small groups over.
