We love celebrating Indepence Day with bright and beautiful food.

Feel free to mix it up, and set out a charcuterie baord filled with a variety of cheese, meats, veggies, crackers, fruits, and nuts. We even added a tiny  bit of chocolate! You can make this Summer Snack Board on the 12×36″ Big Board for Independce Day, too!

Fourth of July Charcuterie Board

Yes, that’s right, I’ve loved the 4th of July so much, my entire life, because the next day was my birthday! I’m a July 5th baby, and many times my birthday was celebrated on the 4th, too.

How to make a cheese board

Start with an epic board. My boards are food safe, and they have a lip around the outside edge so the food stays on the board. There’s nothing worse than going to a party and within minutes, the food is everywhere!

  1. Place small boards on the board to accomodate cheese, salsas, dips, nuts, or small foods.
  2. Fill in the empty spaces with various foods (crackers, fruits, meats, cheese).
  3. Always add some sort of sweet “nosh.”
  4. Serve right away!

Place the brie cheese in the center, and set small bowls around it (with various foods, like dips and salsas).

Don’t forget the cheese knives.

 Lindt chocolate on cheese board

We love to use good quality cured meats (either from DeLallo Foods or I buy at Fred Meyer). And a little sweet nosh?

Look at the pretty “blue” Lindt chocolates!

dipping Jarlsberg dip on July 4th Charcuterie Board

We bought our wood bowls from Lark in downtown Bend (one of my favorite stores!) but you can grab more nesting bowls in my store at House of Hyacinth. Don’t you just love the olive nesting bowls? Perfect for these delicious big boards!

Here’s a “smokey” version of Jarlsberg Cheese Dip, Game Day Smokey Jarlsberg Dip Recipe.or you can buy the regular at Fred Meyer.

Fill in the open areas with the remaining ingredients.
