But, since moving to the farm I just can’t keep the house clean. So much other stuff to do plus we come in with dirty clothes and things like straw/hay fall off while inside.

Two things I try to do if company is coming over 1) clean bathrooms, 2) vacuum the floors so they don’t feel things when walking around (hate that!)

But I also try to remind myself that when I go to a friend’s house I never even notice or care about the cleanliness of their homes

Over 20 years ago we started to get to know some neighbors better and were in & out of each other’s houses at any moment. When we sat together for dinner one night – surrounded by baskets and piles of clean and dirty laundry I had an AHA moment – I was thankful for them. Thankful that our friendship had nothing to do with a clean house. These days my biggest challenge is the financial – UGH. My husband was laid off and there’s just no money to have people over like we usually do. So I need to get more creative and do things differently during this chapter.
