Sounds like something my family would love. I need to get a crockpot with a timer though because I'm away from the house too long during the day. Do you really brown the meat both before and after marinating it? I've only ever done one browning when I use a crockpot. Do you find it really makes a difference? Smoked Paprika is one of my favorite ingredients these days!

That looks and sounds delicious. I love to make just a regular roast with carrots and potatoes. I've made an "Italian" Roast before and that was really good too.

My favorite is my hubby's dump and run BBQ beef {we make it with chicken, too} so easy, spaghetti sauce, liquid smoke, brown sugar a few spices and bbq sauce. Takes five minutes to dump in the ole crockpot! I put beans in the crockpot when I make batches of pinto beans, chili, or homemade baked beans. :) Never thought about adding them to meat. Another great idea, Sandy! :)

Before now, I would never have thought to saute' the meat first then marinade... does the meat accept the marinade better with that technique and/or gives better flavor? I'm excited to give it a try especially on such a tough meat. Thanks for sharing!

My favorite roast is the one I made last Sunday ~ Chipotle Crockpot Roast. I also shredded the leftovers and made enchilada for Monday's supper.
I don't think I have ever put beans in the Crockpot.

I do use beans in some of my slow cooker meals, even if they aren't in the recipe because its a good way to stretch the meal. This recipe looks wonderful. I don't think I have ever seen one where the meat is cooked a little before it is marinated. Looking forward to trying it!
