St. Patrick’s Day Snack Board

What I love about serving a charcuterie board or cheese board (or snack board) is that people love them! You can make them small or epic. This one has some great “green” foods to enjoy!

Why I love this recipe

  • There is no “right or wrong” way to make a board.
  • The stores are full of “Irish snacks” right  now.
  • Everyone loves a holiday board!
  • You can use your creativity and what’s in your fridge, and add a little holiday spin.

  • Avocado Tzatziki Dip (Trader Joe’s)
  • Vegan Kale Cashew Basil Pesto (Trader Joe’s)
  • Sliced Sharp White Cheddar Cracker Barrel Cheese (or Dubliner)

  • Cucumber slices
  • Small goat cheese loaf
  • Grapes
  • Pistachios
  • Dark chocolate peanut butter cups–SO GOOD!
  • Organic Sweet Potato Crackers
  • Optional–not on the board, but if I made it again, I’d add small toasts or pieces of Rye bread

How do you make a St. Patrick’s Day Charcuterie Board?

Go green this year with this tasty Irish themed board, filled with green veggies, corned beef, pretzels and Irish cheeses! Read on to see how I put it all together.

  1. Arrange on a large platter 3 small dishes with the pub cheese, dip and pesto.
  2. Around the small bowls, arrange the rest of the food, saving the pistachio nuts and chocolate pieces for filling in the open spaces.

What is an epic Charcuterie Board?

An epic charcuterie board or dinner board is one of the easiest large-group ways of hosting that involves prep ahead of time, with a delicious presentation, but very little work once the guests arrive. It’s full of meats, cheese, fruit, veggies, nuts, and your favorite snacks.

Buying trays and boards

I serve quite a few charcuterie boards when hosting [check out my charcuterie/cheese board], so I’m always looking for a great deal on a good board. At the same time, I have a small collection and I tend to use the same ones over and over. My house is small, so I have little space for storage. I say small, because if I bring something new home, I try to swap it out and get rid or one I may not use anymore.

We live in a small home, so storage is tight!

Pass the Spoon Game

We recently hosted a multi-generational small gathering. It was super fun for our kids! [Oh, Alder the Whoodle …. above! So close … ]

But one memory takes me back to a dinner in our home quite a few years ago, when we resorted to “passing the spoon.”

It was a super fun dinner party with mixed company, and let’s just say the conversation became very loud. Not quite remembering the topic, everyone had a hard time getting their last word in. Then someone jumped up and said, let’s pass a spoon!

  1. Pass a large spoon around the table, the person holding the spoon has the floor to “speak” without being interrupted.
  2. For the quieter person, this is great, because they have their chance to be heard.
  3. It’s a great way to be sensitive to all personalities around the table!

Conversation Tip:

For a large, vivacious group around the table, play PASS THE SPOON game, and only talk about one topic! FUN!
