Were the 2x4s you bought cedar or basic whitewood studs? If they were whitewood, how have they held up over the last couple of years in the elements (rot, termites, rain, etc.)? And is it still sturdy with the 2×2 frame? Thanks!!

In reply to Toma Bowen. Yes, we finished them for the outdoors (stain + sealer). My husband isn't sure .. he just bought the planks at a lumber yard.
