Salad dressings can be delicious if they are light and tasty. But they can also be heavy, too strong in flavor, and can ruin a salad.

That’s where NAKANO® comes in …

Long before I was asked to speak at EVO ’12 {The Evolution of Women in Social Media} this year on The Art of Entertaining, sponsored by Mizkan, our family used Nakano Rice Vinegars in just about everything.

Really, it has been a staple in our home for years.

NAKANO® is perfect for splashing on sensational salads, amazing appetizers and scrumptious center-of-the-plate entrees. It also makes for an excellent marinade for proteins. NAKANO® Seasoned Rice Vinegars have a sweet, light flavor that dress up any dish. Simply splash it on everything from salads to pasta to meat and vegetables.

Even our teenagers grab the Nakano Vinegars (they have 7 flavors!) to add to their rice, salads, or various main dishes.

Here are a few things I want to share about this product that you may not know:

• NAKANO® Seasoned Rice Vinegars is a versatile and flavorful product that is traditionally used for salad dressings, recipes, or is splashed on protein, vegetables or red meat giving the finished meal a unique, delicious taste

• NAKANO® Rice Vinegar and Seasoned Rice Vinegars are made with real, whole grain rice and are naturally brewed in the traditional Mizkan manufacturing process that began in Japan more than 200 years ago

• The light but full-flavor condiment is a great replacement for fatty or high-calorie condiments, such as mayonnaise

• For those with a passion for food, NAKANO® Seasoned Rice Vinegar is the secret ingredient that enhances but never overpowers food

• NAKANO® exclusively makes its own vinegar to guarantee a quality condiment that delivers a tantalizing taste

• All NAKANO® products are gluten-free and have 50 percent less sodium than the competition

So for the workshop, I was happy to be asked to be a part of helping and inspiring people to get in to “easy entertaining,” and reach for something light and simple for their salads, and cooking. (I’ll also be talking about their cooking wine, Holland House.)

I won’t go in to the details now, but here’s a delightful salad that our family enjoyed just last week, using the Nakano Balsamic Splash!

We splashed it on our salad for flavor, with a little olive oil, too. And of course, always fresh herbs from our herb bed! :)

The Balsamic Blend Seasoned Rice Vinegar was the perfect touch, a light, sweet alternative to traditional Balsamic vinegar.

Greens
Blueberries
Feta Cheese
Radish
Basil and Lemon Thyme
Balsamic Blend Seasoned Rice Vinegar
Olive Oil

So yummy. Everyone loved the freshness!

When you want a light salad dressing, what do you reach for?

I am speaking for Mizkan at EVO ’12, but was not paid to write this post today; all opinions are my own. If you want to follow Nakano Splash on Facebook or Pinterest, we’d love to have you join or pin your creations!
