This is my go-to recipe. Everyone loves them.

I’ve made it gluten-free by

Substituting gluten free flour for the flour

Substituting 1/2 cup almond flour and 1/2 cup coconut flour for the 1 cup oats

Rolling it into a log before chilling as it’s easier to just slice

Chopping up Lindt white chocolate instead of using chocolate chips because the latter are often processed along with wheat etc.

It makes that rarity of gf cookies; a crisp cookie.

Keeps forever and both adults and children love them.

I sometimes ring the changes by adding orange zest and substituting dark chocolate and walnuts or pecans for white chocolate and macadamias, or leaving out chocolate, nuts and fruit altogether and inserting a thumbprint of cherry jam.

May you inspire many happy gatherings with these.

I even sometimes find one or two left that I can enjoy with a cup of tea.

Hi, I would love to share these delish cookies with my father-in-law. I have been the family caregiver fro 3 plus years, after my parents and sister went to be with the Lord, I was lost. I just began to care for my father-in-law four hours from home. I was with him seven days before he was rushed to the hospital. He is doing fine I am hopeful to return as his caregiver soon and what a gift this will be to bake cookies for this 82 year old man. I must add I will have to share with my little dolls! Kindness goes from 0 to 100 plus!
