Light Garbanzo Pesto Dip

This delicious Garbanzo Pesto Dip is a creamy mixture of mashed garbanzo beans highlighted by pesto and sun dried tomatoes. Adapted from Bush’s Beans.


  • 1 can, 16 oz BUSH’S® Garbanzo Beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup light sour cream
  • 1/2 cup prepared basil pesto, usually in a jar, found in the Italian/pasta sauce aisle
  • 1/2 cup chopped sun dried tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup red onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp lime juice
  • Salt and pepper


  • Coarsely mash garbanzo beans with fork or pastry blender. Stir in sour cream, pesto, sun dried tomatoes, red onion, fresh basil, lime juice; add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours.
  • Serve with assorted crackers and cut up fresh vegetables. Garnish with fresh basil.
