Springy Entertaining Canning Jar Idea
I sure like efficient ideas when it comes to entertaining.
Like multi-purpose canning jars turned into drinking glasses.
Stuffed with a Springy napkin.
Along with real silverware. (I say real, because I’m not a fan of plastic unless you absolutely have to.)
Gather the jars.
Fold the napkins and add the silverware.
Stuff the jar.
You can do this with a bunch of jars, depending on how many guests you have coming over.
Not only does it look classy, it’s efficient and “just right” for a casual event.
Do you have a stash of canning jars and do you ever use them for different entertaining situations?
What a fabulous idea, Sandy! You are so clever! :-)

I LOVE this idea because it looks amazing and it works great, too! It’s really great for buffets and it is efficient, like you said. Last 4th of July I bought a big box of jars and put them through the dishwasher and then rolled up my plastic cutlery in red and white and blue and white bandana’s ($1 each at Hobby Lobby) to use as the napkins and voila! All people had to do was grab a plate and then the jar turned into their drinking glass after they took out the napkin and cutlery. Now I’ve got the glassware and bandanas ready to go for this year.
We’re hosting a BBQ for my daughter’s b-day next weekend and I think I’ll use your idea and get some pretty spring colored napkins and do this again. Thanks Sandy! :)
Where do you like to buy your jars in bulk or just a couple at a time?
i completely love this!! i am so going to do this :)
GREAT idea! i like that you have everything together….and it’s bright and cheery!
What a fantastic idea.. I don’t can but I recently bought a box of small jars.. I have problems with some foods.. so I have been making my own salad dressings and use the jars for that.. I’ve also seens some really great ideas for making layered foods in the jars.. so much fun! Check out this link.. It could easily be done in a small canning jar..

I love this idea! Jars are the best and are so inexpensive to keep on hand for entertaining. I love to use them for drinking glasses when I have a large group over and I love the small jam type jars for individual desserts. Jars are so much fun to use for more than canning.
Cute idea, Sandy. You killed two birds with one stone there – cutlery AND a drinking glass. I’ll store this idea in the back of my (very cluttered) brain.
This is such a great idea!! I love it, so pretty
