Ganache Blackberry Brownie Bites
Indulge in these Ganache Blackberry Brownie Bites for summer or a party–with each brownie bite topped with a plump blackberry!
Friends, have you ever thought about the feel of your home? More than the smell (of good foods, or essential oils), the feel of the cozy rug under your toes or the wood floors or an outside deck, the feel of the way you (the hostess or host) talk to your kids or spouse. The feel of how you’re greeted at the front door?
I really believe that in hospitality, our impact on others is greater than we may realize.

Sweet simple hospitality story
When my husband and I were first married, we were invited to an Italian feast at our new friend’s home. I say feast, because Krissy, the hostess, couldn’t be more Italian than Sophia Loren, and she knew how to cook up a storm. In reality, we’re talking the biggest bowl of fresh pasta, a giant pot of Marina, sauce dripping off the sides, and hot loaves of bread from the oven. A huge bowl of salad (I soon learned where she bought her giant stainless steel bowls and bought one for myself), and a baby on her hip, I saw the look of love in her eyes as she spoke to her husband.
Sweet and gentle. Beautiful and respectful.
We never know when we’re with people, how we affect others.
I took note on that day. I know I’ve not always been the perfect hostess (Lord, help me), but I’m often reminded that it might be that one line, or that one look, or that one hug, or that one question that let guests know I was interested in their life, and that impacts others.
The feel of their home was so memorable, the generosity that was shown to us I can still feel today, and the love that this couple had toward each other was very beautiful. I’ll never forget this night, even though it was 24 years ago!

I went to the store and there were two sizes of fudge brownie mix. One was for a 9×9 pan and the other for a 9×13 pan. Which size did you use? I bought both sizes so I didn’t have to go back to the store.
So good Sandy. I always feel like, it’s not the look of the home, the decor, etc…but the feeling you get when you’re in it…do you feel like you are “home” are you made to feel like that. I always want people to feel so comfortable in our home. Over the years we’ve had friends, special speakers, teenagers, the whole gamet, and my main thing was “this is our home, please just make yourself at home”. We haven’t doe it as much in recent years, and i miss it so whenever the opportunity arises, I do love it.
My house makes me smile every time I drive down our long lane. ย ? ย Can’t wait to try the brownies out! ย Thank you!
