Fresh Herbs

Today, 22 years ago, I married my best friend.

Together we are so in love with our kids and our life. Is it perfect? Nope. Always easy? Heck, no. Challenges along the way? Just like everyone else.

But we have hope, we love, we dream, we love to camp and travel and entertain together, and … we have regular date nights.

I’m always encouraging my friends to never let go of date night ideas, to make them a priority, and an investment in their marriages. It’s what we have done, and I don’t think we’ll ever be sorry.

I thought it would be fun to share a page of my wedding book. My wedding dishes, which we still use! And a few other pictures.

And of our wedding day.

So many great memories.

Another thing we love to do is garden and cook together. I call my husband the “Herb King,” because we have so many varieties in our garden. Paul is always bringing a bouquet of herbs in to the kitchen for “display” while we cook, and we eventually use them in our dishes.

It not only smells SO good, it’s also romantic!

We’re been on a quinoa kick as of late. We’ve made many types of recipes–this time we grilled sweet onions and added a few other tasty ingredients. Oh, and did I mention, fresh herbs?

Seriously, herbs are what makes food so good.

Either spices or herbs are used to enhance flavor in cooking, sort of like date nights and investing in one another enhances and adds flavor to our marriages!
