Bargain Entertaining with Dollar Store Goblets
When you find something you love, buy a lot of it.
That is what I did years ago when I discovered these beautiful goblets from the Dollar Store. Such a bargain, I bought about 30 of them.
They are chunky and never break, even when kids use them.
And even if they did break, so what? It’s not like it is your fine china.
I love making entertaining beautiful and affordable.
You can also make it very practical, like I did here by placing all the glasses randomly in a large bowl or basket.
A great idea for casual entertaining.
For a more elegant approach, a few weeks ago, it took me less than 2 minutes to put this together.
Cut whatever flowers you have in your yard.
Find a low-line tray.
Place your glasses on the tray.
Add and light 2 candles.
It’s beautiful.
I love a bargain and I also appreciate quick, easy entertaining tips.
What tips can you share that take just 2 extra minutes to make entertaining beautiful?

Love those glasses! It still surprises me how heavy they are and only a $1! Your display is beautiful.
Love how you put the flowers in the tray with the candles. Another idea I’ll be “borrowing” from you.
Sandy, I usually don’t take the time to comment, like many I guess, to busy and want to read as many other blogs as I can before getting to work…but had to pause here today and say…I have these very same glasses and I too bought them at our local dollar store years ago and I love them! I bought 40 of them, just in case they “did” brake and I couldn’t fine them again…none of them have broke! I love the way you used the Rhodies around them…simply beautiful! The only thing I guess we are not to serve in them are hot things since there is lead in them..I didn’t know that until recently some one shared that with me. Hugs and blessings all over your day! Christine =O)
Sometimes the right thing comes along when you aren’t looking for it. My wife and I have a wish list and are open to unplanned luck.

ps the dollar store still has your goblets and matching tumblers. So tempting.
I agree with your idea when you find a bargain like that and it fits your goals—buy big. I just saw a cute idea on Pintrest that would be so simple. Use a three tiered tray and fill it with smores ingredients for dessert. Simple but fun!
Sandy, I love what you did with the Rhodie blossoms! Very creative!!
I love those glasses, have admired them – they certainly make things look so much more beautiful!
Mint! A sprig of mint in any drink adds a nice classy touch. Even if it’s just water. But I guess if the glasses were not filled to begin with you’d have to follow everyone around with the mint, trying to gently place it in their glass without them thinking that you’re trying to poison them with something. You know on second though, forget it. LOL!
Missed stopping by. Hope you are doing well.

Candles…love them. I love to use plants and herbs to decorate a table or serving area too. I set a very pretty table Sunday for our Mother’s Day brunch and forgot to take a photo…bummer! Most everything was stuff from around the house I already had…books, herbs and flowers wrapped in paper bags with twine, a small plaque my mother gave me with a sweet quote about mothers and daughters, a beautiful figurine of a mother swinging her daughter around and around, and a big candle. The herbs and flowers were also take aways for our sweet mamas. Thanks for all the inspiration from your blog!
I love that. It’s so simple and quick and easy on the pocketbook. Those flowers are gorgeous~!!
