I like to freshen up. It just makes me feel better to touch up the makeup and change clothes. My frazzled level would depend on who I was hosting. :)
Welllll, I have this down really good. I get all my work done as much as I can the day before getting my husband involved. HeHe… I stay in my PJs and feel comfortable and cool all day. ( I live in Hawaii) Then about one hour before people arrive I take a shower wash my hair blow dry and put my make up on. I can do this in 20 min easy and it makes me feel so good to be just out of the shower. Before hand I can do what ever and it won’t make any difference cuz I’m going to get in THAT SHOWER. So freshening up to me is the whole enchilada at the end. A bit risky, but it feels marvelous.
It DEFINITELY matters to me that I am fresh and presentable when company arrives. I hate when they arrive early and I’m not fully ready, feeling frazzled is the worst for me! I just want to be able to make sure my hair is where it’s supposed to be, make-up isn’t running where it shouldn’t and my clothes are in place.
Re-freshing myself means I want to greet my guests with an open love and spirit and demonstrate my gratitude for their coming to share a wonderful breath of time. I want them to know how special they are to me and my wonderful family and home (no matter how small…home means “welcome”)
Freshening up means totally changing clothes- even better- a shower! I live on a farm, so there is a lot more to freshen:)
Check the hair, freshen the makeup, and if necessary change clothes…but definitely brush the teeth!
I have a strict no sweatpants in public rule so I have to freshen up before guests come over. Shower, dress, makeup and hair. Nothing over the top.
Yes, it matters very much to me that I look my best when guests arrive. This means a quick shower, clean clothes and brushed hair. This makes me fresh and feels like I can enjoy the partay!
I put makeup, style hair and dress for dinner about an hour before the guests arrive.
Freshening up is important. I try to put on clean, unwrinkled clothes and brush my hair and teeth before anyone arrives.
Yep! After many last-minute shower disasters and parties spent with wet hair or too little makeup, bad outfit, etc, I have finally learned to shower early in the day and wear my hair up while prepping for the party. Then, about 20 minutes ahead of guests, I can change into a clean outfit, touch up makeup and perfume, and relax. A cute apron is optional if cooking remains to be done. So many good aprons out there now! As for other accessories, bracelets are usually out for handiwork’s sake, but necklaces are perfect.
Both my wife and I “freshen” up before company gets there. We take the hour before to get ready, change out of the cooking, cleaning clothes. Put on nice comfortable clothes, not for our company but for us, we have talked about this and it just makes us feel better, more relaxed when we feel we are putting our best foot forward for our guests, and outselves.
Pick me! pick me! my wife would love to have those 2 great pieces of jewelery…..
Blessings to you and yours!!
Curtis
Oh yes, freshening up is so important. Changing my outfit, rechecking my make-up and hair, freshening up the deodorant and brushing my teeth. (I want to be able to greet and hug my guests without those worries.) :)
tweeted too!
Oh yes, I always freshen up..I usually have my outfit picked out and ready to go!

It does matter to be to freshen up before company comes over, because I notice tha I can serve others and enjoy company with others better when I feel my best. Freshing up would be to be enegergized and awake and feeling pretty (quick nap, caffiene, freshly showered/groomed…lol)
I feel more confident if my hair, makeup, and outfit look cute, so I definitely “freshen up” before guests arrive!
At least changing my clothes, I usually end up wearing a little of whatever I am making so changing them is a must!
I have to have time to freshen up before the guests arrive…it’s a calming thing and a time to get ready to have fun and also make sure I don’t have flour or something on my face! A quick change and a last touchup of makeup does wonders for the soul!
I always want to freshen up before the guests arrive, though sometimes I run out of time. By freshen up I mostly mean touch up my make up and make sure my hair isn’t a mess.
Freshening up is important to help make the mental transition from prep-mode to done-mode. I don’t have a specific routine…but perfume is usually involved…along with a glass of wine :)
If I don’t have a few minutes to primp I’m a wreck the whole night. I need to at least look in the mirror and change clothes and even a little primping goes a long way to boost my confidence for the rest of the night.
I’m not a FB fan, but I’m a long time reader here. I have to freshen up before company comes- but it’s a simple routine: comb my hair, reapply lip balm, and put a spritz of good smelling perfume or lotion on. Those three steps go a long way in making me feel ready to enjoy company!
Freshening up is very important to me, sometimes more so than a super tidy kitchen..I may leave a few dishes in the sink but always change into fresh clothes and put on lipstick and body spray before my guests arrive..
