KitchenAid GIVEAWAY via USA Today Your Life Magazine
There’s a new publication that hit the stands today by USA Today, designed specifically for women.
It’s called Your Life: Guide to Women’s Health.
Christine Neff, from USA Today, wrote an excellent article in this fabulous magazine called, “Holiday Entertaining Made Easy!”
I’m honored that she included RE as part of the interview on each beautiful page of this feature.
Take a peek at these fabulous pages!
There are fantastic recipes, tips on bringing the outdoors in, simplifying during the holidays, staying sane and “putting perfections aside,” and most importantly, realizing the benefits of entertaining.
There are so many benefits to entertaining, the most obvious in my opinion being forging beautiful relationships!
Your Life is also full of good eats, tips, advice, and plenty of reminders that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
Which brings us to our GIVEAWAY here today!
Do you own a stand mixer by KitchenAid? I think I’ve owned a couple in my 30 years of entertaining. I just wear them out, they’re used so much for baking, cooking, and canning. I tend to think of my KA as a friend, who I rely heavily upon. :)
Today in celebration of RE featured in USA Today, KitchenAid is giving away a 7-quart Stand Mixer. This product is brand new, so the winner will be one of the first to own it.
Here are the details (winner gets to choose between silver, black, or red):

Cooking for the Cure, presented by KitchenAid, reminds us that cooking with a purpose (and supporting the Cure) helps to bring an end to breast cancer in our lifetime.
Oh, how do I believe in this. My mom had breast cancer, and then ovarian cancer took her life. So cancer is fresh in our family and a reminder that we need to do all we can to help.

I’d say more potluck style. I generally supply the main portion and my guest augment what I have. Works great!
I usually make everything, unless I’m with my family; then it is a party in the kitchen and everyone helps!

I am more of a make it all and totally stress out while doing it kind of girl. People always offer to bring something and I will say “pickles” or something lame like that. And of course I have to make 12 different kinds of Christmas cookies which is usually WAY more than we ever need or can eat! So very hard to say “yes” to help isn’t it?! :)
A potluck…I freak at the thought of too much responsibility.

When I have a holiday (or any party), I love to do all the cooking, then I feel no guilt if anyone wants to help tidy afterward ;)
For most of our entertaining – we provide everything – a great way to give another family “a break” – if they bring everything – it is a great bonus!
When I host a holiday party, I really, really like to do it myself :-) But sometimes, I’ll host larger parties and certainly have others bring something to the table! Both are fun to me. This KitchenAid mixer is dreamy….

Mostly do potluck :)
I posted about the giveaway on facebook.
I usually make the food myself, but sometimes I’ll have someone bring a simple side. I prefer to be in control of the main dishes being served though.
Oh how I love this mixer!!
I do a mixture of making a few things and asking others to bring something to share. :-) Easy peasy!
We definitely do potluck style parties. Usually I do a main dish , let people know what that will be and folks bring yummy things to accompany this. People like to feel like they helped, and often enjoy bringing something that traditionally they make each year that people are hoping to sample!
I am like your first commenter, Stephanie: I let people bring stuff, but make a ton of food anyway. I enjoy it, and try to do the prep over a few days so it’s not a last minute scramble and I can enjoy people.
I usually do the main meal and have guests bring drinks and desserts.
