KitchenAid GIVEAWAY via USA Today Your Life Magazine
There’s a new publication that hit the stands today by USA Today, designed specifically for women.
It’s called Your Life: Guide to Women’s Health.
Christine Neff, from USA Today, wrote an excellent article in this fabulous magazine called, “Holiday Entertaining Made Easy!”
I’m honored that she included RE as part of the interview on each beautiful page of this feature.
Take a peek at these fabulous pages!
There are fantastic recipes, tips on bringing the outdoors in, simplifying during the holidays, staying sane and “putting perfections aside,” and most importantly, realizing the benefits of entertaining.
There are so many benefits to entertaining, the most obvious in my opinion being forging beautiful relationships!
Your Life is also full of good eats, tips, advice, and plenty of reminders that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
Which brings us to our GIVEAWAY here today!
Do you own a stand mixer by KitchenAid? I think I’ve owned a couple in my 30 years of entertaining. I just wear them out, they’re used so much for baking, cooking, and canning. I tend to think of my KA as a friend, who I rely heavily upon. :)
Today in celebration of RE featured in USA Today, KitchenAid is giving away a 7-quart Stand Mixer. This product is brand new, so the winner will be one of the first to own it.
Here are the details (winner gets to choose between silver, black, or red):

Cooking for the Cure, presented by KitchenAid, reminds us that cooking with a purpose (and supporting the Cure) helps to bring an end to breast cancer in our lifetime.
Oh, how do I believe in this. My mom had breast cancer, and then ovarian cancer took her life. So cancer is fresh in our family and a reminder that we need to do all we can to help.

I usually provide the main dish, bread and drinks then suggest what others could bring when they ask. It works for us!

Usually just me, and usually lots of small bites. But potluck is fun, too, if the invitees are closer friends.
We try to cover all the main dishes when entertaining for the holidays, but if someone has a specialty we ask to see if they wouldn’t mind bringing it. We want everyone to fell included and welcome. Plus, we want to enjoy the party too.

I’m all for sharing the workload! Everyone bring a dish! I also liked the KitchenAid Facebook page
I usually make everything myself and try to do as much from scratch as possible, although it is getting to be a bit much and i might start the potluck real soon :)
For the most part I do it all. Unless it is a group of friends getting together for a casual get together, then it’s potluck because they are such wonderful cooks and bakers!
I usually make part of the food and ask family to bring some too. That way everyone has a part to do :)
I usually do a pot luck party but also include many treats that I have made up ahead of time so that I can just enjoy the party and not fuss too much! Thanks for the chance to win the beautiful mixer!
Just blogged about it!!!!!!!
Usually I’ll “allow” my family members to bring one thing each, but for my 30th birthday I wanted to be more in control. I only let my sister bring a fruit salad, and I prepared the rest…ahead of time, with plenty of time, and it went off without a hitch!
I usually do a mix of both depending. But my favorite is Boxing Day when all I make new is Boxing Day ribs and whatever side dishes we are missing in leftovers and we tell everyone else to come share their leftovers too. SO much fun! And very low key. It usually involves wearing sweatpants! :-)

I usually make food for everyone, though sometimes I’ll plan lots of food and invite others to bring a dessert or snack to share.
I usually make the main things and then have people bring the extra things. That way if something comes up that they can’t make it, we’re not stuck, Not that just dessert would be that horrible.
Potluck
I do a mixture of potluck & homemade food. All of the homemade cookies & pies are recipes that were passed down from my mom who died of cancer in 2006. She got recipes from my great grandmother & my grandmother. I love my kitchenaid, but with my family of 6 I always have to make more than one batch. Happy Holidays everyone. God Bless.

I have done both actually! Sometimes if I am feeling very ambitious I will make it all.
