Winter Wonderland Edible Centerpiece + Giveaways and Sweeps!
This Winter Wonderland Edible Centerpiece idea I’m sharing today is part of a paid SocialMoms and Hostess blogging program, with giveaways and sweepstakes!
This past weekend my daughter and I put together a tasty holiday table, because for at least one family meal, it’s fun to change up a traditional table setting and make it fun for the entire family, of all ages!
Memories are made around the table, and I promise, today’s details you will love!
Included in the center of our table was a giant holiday tree of Hostess products (purchased at Target), surrounded by snow, smaller trees, and a train on its track–all edible!
Winter Wonderland Edible Centerpiece:
I have to admit, it was fun making something new. I think we can get in a holiday rut by doing the same thing year after year, so creating some edible magical memories for families, especially the little kids, not only makes everyone linger around the table a little bit longer, but on this particular night, we didn’t even have to make dessert!
Items needed:
- 22 Hostess Ding Dongs
- 12 Hostess Sno Balls
- 9 Hostess Twinkies
- Toothpicks
- Pretzel sticks
- Peppermint mints (round)
- Coconut
- 1 Riesen (or Rolo)
- Package of Sixlets round candies (green and red)
- Edible glue (recipe below)
- (Optional: any small green trees you want to add to the “wonderland.”)
Our family and friends had a blast devouring the Hostess products, and just look how creative you can get with Twinkies, Ding Dongs, and Sno Balls!!
How to assemble:
Here’s what we did. On a large cutting board, make a base of 12 Ding Dongs. Using toothpicks to anchor the pieces together, place a layer of Sno Balls on top–alternating layers of Sno Balls and Ding Dongs–ending with one Sno Ball on top, to create a tree.
Next, lay pretzel sticks down to create a train track.
Place Twinkies around 3/4 of the track, putting a pretzel stick in between each one to hold the “cars” together.
With the glue, place 4 peppermints on each Twinkie as wheels.
Glue 2 peppermint candies together on the first car, and a Riesen (or Rolo) on the back of the last car.
Sprinkle the board and tree with coconut.
Place small trees around the large edible tree.
Set the table:
For the table setting, I also purchased at Target small green tumblers! Perfect for kids, I used my own dishes, red paper napkins, and created a kid-friendly table setting with my Q Squared Christmas dishes, and mugs for Hot Cocoa.
Have you thought about how creative you could be, using these products–Twinkies, Ho Hos, Ding Dongs, Suzy Q’s, Sno Balls, Zingers, etc. for a fun edible tablescape?
