Cozy Night with Honey Pear Cake
It’s time to enjoy the beautiful fall colors, and turn on the oven, and fill the house with delicious aromas of Honey Pear Cake!
We hosted a cozy dinner party last Sunday evening and I served this yummy Honey Pear Cake recipe. Taking a quick trip up the street to support our local farmers, I bought a box of Bartlett Pears.
Suddenly the cooler evenings are here, and there is no turning back. I can’t believe how quickly the leaves are changing already, as I’m quickly preparing myself for chilly mornings.
But, I am looking forward to a few more cozy Sunday night dinner parties, where we may turn the heater on, but we definitely snuggle up with jackets and maybe a few blankets!
Easy to make gluten-free.
This recipe today, using Bartlett pears, is an old recipe that has been sitting around in my recipe box for years. It’s been on my must-make recipe menu list, and for our gluten-free guest, I used gluten-free flour. It turned out a little gooier, but very tasty. Next time I’ll make it with regular flour, the way I remember eating it in past years.
Don’t peel the pears.
Cozy flavors, such as honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and then sweet Bartlett pears? Pears are so sweet and succulent when ripe, and they have such a refreshing flavor … Oh, and did I mention, this recipe is quick and easy because you don’t have to peel the pears!?
Honey Pear Cake.
Chop the sweet, juicy pears, add to the batter, and get the cake in the oven! One hour later it’s ready to serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Perfect to be served and eaten as your last course for a cozy dinner party, or even devoured privately, in the comfort of home, I think this cake is a highlight for any fall menu!

Hello Sandy! :- )
I have been making pear bread for years as well, with chopped pecans. YUM! A dear friend had pear trees, she shared the wonderful fruit. DELISH!
Andrea, I would LOVE to have a pear tree! My sister used to up in Portland years ago :) Mm-m-m, pear butter!
