Grab ingredients for your favorite Chicken Caesar Salad recipe! Make the jars of salad.
And then bring some big bowls [Charcoal Element Salad Bowl Set Of 4] napkins, and forks. Easy!
How to serve a Salad in a Jar:
- Set out chilled salads in jar
- Set out condiments (for this recipe, croutons and salad dressing)
- Everyone dumps their salad into a large bowl
- Set out forks and napkins
For this Salad in a Jar recipe, you can eat it right in the jar!
Here’s what you need to make this board:
- 6 (24 oz) 3 cup mason jars
- Caesar Salad (you can buy the big packs at Costco and add chicken, or make your own!)
- Baguette (we bought at a local Sparrow Bakery + 1/4 cup butter
- Cherries and strawberries
- Costco chocolate chip cookies
Here are a few tips:
I love this size jar. I found them for $1.99 at a gourmet grocery store in town, so I snagged 8 of them. They are 1 1/2 pint. Have you ever heard of this size? It’s the perfect salad size! I really think a quart is too big/too much.
Buy these jars here, or look for individual jars in your gourmet grocery store:
Costco now sells their yummy chocolate chip cookies in a much smaller size. I always hated buying their big bakery cookies. At our parties, I’d find 1/2 eaten cookies around after the party, because they were too big. Now they have a pack of small perfect-sized cookies! YAY.
Assemble the jars ahead with salad (keep the croutons in a separate container).
Maybe you’re hosting for July 4th. Or maybe you’re heading to the water to paddle board or kayak or canoe. All I know is, it’s great to come home and have dinner waiting for you!
We served these jars with a local bakery baguette (Sparrow Bakery) and cookies! YUM!
