How do I make chocolate covered bananas?
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice the bananas into 1/4” rounds. Lay half the slices on the lined pan.
- Using a spoon, top the banana slices with a dab of peanut butter. Place another slice on top. Freeze.
- Microwave the chocolate in a glass bowl, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted and smooth.
- Remove bites from the freezer and dip/roll (using 2 forks) them into melted chocolate.
- NOTE: Work quickly before the bites start to thaw and get mushy, or the chocolate starts to harden. You can choose to completely cover the banana, or dip partially.
- Arrange the bites back on baking sheet.
- Sprinkle lightly with sea salt.
- Immediately return to the freezer. Serve frozen!
Are bananas and peanut butter good for you?
YES! Fruit is good for you, it’s natural, and packed with a lot of vitamins and minerals that our bodies need. It also has a natural and a great source of carbs and energy.
What about the combination of bananas and peanut butter? This combination is the perfect combination for a snack or dessert. I also love this snack to keep in the freezer for when little kids stop by. It’s the perfect “bite” that kids love.
Variations and tips for banana bites:
- Choose a banana that’s ripe but still firm. You do not want to dip a mushy banana. Also, if it’s too firm, the taste won’t be good.
- Peanut butter can be used in different varieties. Try nut butters, creamy peanut butter, almond butter, etc.
- The chocolate can harden, so just re-microwave it if you need to for only a few seconds.
- Try using white chocolate, or other flavors of chocolate.
- Try other fruits, like strawberries or raspberries.
So set out a plate of these yummy treats, and watch them disappear–quickly!
They’re too easy to keep popping in your mouth!
ENJOY!

Notes
Good and easy recipe. One suggestion leave frozen bananas in freezer till your ready to dip. They start defrosting & vecome mushy. I personally had an issue with the chocolate. I tried to do different batches in same container but chocolate got grainy. I will try again melting the whole bag at one time. But it was good.
Just YUM!
Yum. I made “chunky monkey ice cream bites one summer. So good and satisfying.
