FUNFETTI® Inspired Cake Board
I’m the luckiest mom in the world to share my life with our amazing Abby Rose! How creative is this Epic FUNFETTI® Inspired Cake Board? [Check out more epic charcuterie/cheese board ideas! This board is from Pier 1, but is sold out. Links to my BIG BOARD at bottom of this post.]
Today, we’re celebrating in style with none other than an Epic Funfetti Dessert Board, made with bright colored sprinkles.
Abby put together her own birthday dessert, and I think it’s just perfect for today!
“I constantly go between wanting you to stay my little baby forever, and being excited about all of the amazing things you’ll do in this life.”
Oh, how I love this quote! It was true when Abby entered Kindergarten, and its still true today at 23.
What is FUNFETTI® ?
FUNFETTI® is rainbow sprinkles (also called jimmies in parts of the Northeast, did you know that?) The sprinkles are made from sugar, various waxy shortenings and bright artificial colors.
The funfetti movement began in 1989, when Pillsbury introduced a Funfetti cake mix, a white cake mix with multicolored sprinkles in the cake mix box!
You may also want to make your own Birthday Snack Mix (from my friend, Maegan, The Baker Mama).
How to make a FUNFETTI® inspired board
First of all, find a board that works for you (round with a lip), and buy everything you can find with sprinkles.
Bake your own homeamde cake (recipe coming soon for this fabulous cake), or if you’re in a pinch for time, buy a storebought confetti cake.
Funfetti dessert boards are fun to put together. And they’re great for any celebration.
Tips for cost saving board
Bake your own FUNFETTI® (Pillsbury) box cake! Its convieniently quick and doesnt break the bank.
One of the tips for making an epic board is to buy generic brands, or off-brands, for all the “treats.”
We bought a few items from Trader Joe’s, which is pretty inexpensive.
There’s no way around it though, this epic board feed a lot of guests, but it does take some some money to prepare!
This 28″ size feeds 12-20 (depending on portions), and of course you can buy smaller boards and adjust accordingly.[INFO BELOW]
I’ll never forget this Barbie cake I made for Abby’s 3rd birthday.
I can only imagine how many of my readers have made the Barbie Doll Birthday Cake (in the classic Pampered Chef batter bowl) over the years.
Yes, Abby’s still my baby, and I love her so.
